Re: 5ft Weekender build in Indianapolis UPDATE: Maiden Voyag

Well it's been a long time since the camper was completed and I finally got her out on the maiden voyage. My little 11 yr old buddy Frankie and my 3 month old pup Cooper went along to Ouabache s.p. in bluffton, indiana for a short overnight trip. Seeing as the campground is not technically open for the season yet, we had lots of wide open space and a quiet night to enjoy the nice early spring weather. The camper towed well on the 1 1/2 hr trip on the interstate and state highways. Bed was comfy and SO much roomier than my old 4' wide!

I've known Frankie since he was a newborn. He lives across the street and he and his brothers have all gone camping with me over the years. Being good friends with his parents, the kids are like little nieces and nephews. Frankie was supposed to go with me to the Hoosier fall camp meet but his mother died suddenly and tragically, so the trip was canceled of course. Was a very sad time over the next few months but he and the family have pulled through. It was nice to finally get our trip in and share the maiden voyage with him.
