Also built a shelf for stove, lined with more floor tiles and topped with carpet to keep in place. Here is the hatch sitting in place

Today was sanding day on right side. Most was done by my son, my arms can't take it. When I epoxied the sides I spotted some areas that looked like I had missed on coat three. At the end of the pot life of epoxy, I went back and added some more. That part did not self level and looked weird blotches. I know know that these were high spots(was hard to tell) and just needed to be knocked down first. The side feels really smooth.

After many hours of sanding, I got bored so I made a tongue rack out of the same stuff that became spars. Will be easy to attach chairs and stuff. I plan on mounting propane tank in the very front. Also found box for twenty dollars

Nice rack! I'd like to do something similar but wasn't sure how to fasten it to the trailer frame. How did you accomplish this?

You could weld some flat square washers onto the frame and bolt it on with some nice stainless bolts
Looks realy good.
What did you use to assemble it

So far it was a quick job while waiting for finish to dry, or temperature to warm up. It is not permanently attached at this point due to the fact I have not skinned yet. I plan on using J bolts through tongue box.

So the big day came. Went to Upland CA to procure my edge molding, 2 ten foot and 2 four foot. The folks at socal Teardrops were great, they even gave me the leftover from a 16 foot length. Paid for 14,got 16 feet. Then rented a trailer for the. 040 aluminum from industrial metal supply in Irvine CA, wow they cut to exact size for the two pieces. They also have a remnants section. Picked up 49 in by 3/4 by 1/8 four pieces for under 3 bucks. They had so much stuff for cheap. Diamond plate to. Anyway tomorrow will be great

Weather is supposed to be in the low 80s this weekend, so no excuses for not getting the skinning completed.
Maybe we can do another video conference on Sunday PM to see the near finished project.
cheers tom

Trimed the front edge, put hatch on for the first time, fit perfectly . Floating aluminum on hatch ended up with a slight bow on the bottom, handle brought it in, trim can do the rest
