We did our mattress as 3 cushions. They can be stacked to form a little "sofa" as shown, or laid out for sleeping. We got the gray outdoor type fabric on sale for $38. Seems like it will be very durable and easy to clean. I think the color goes well with the wallpaper.

Got the AC and LED trailer lights installed. I really like these LED lights. They look nice and are really bright.

The rear hatch is pretty much all we need to complete to have this trailer finished.

Just wanted to say something about our design philosophy. We used to own a 26' Fleetwood travel trailer with a large slide-out. We traveled a lot in this trailer, including a 10,000 mile Alaska trip. We actually did the "full-time" RV life for 3 years. We learned that its more pleasant to live in a small space if it is bright and uncluttered. We wanted our tiny trailer to look more like a small version of a travel trailer. I know some folks may feel that having amenities such as a TV and DVD player are unnecessary luxuries. But, at the end of the day its nice to have the option to kick back and watch a good movie, or watch the news and weather.

The great thing about building a tiny trailer is that the individual builder can be creative and build something to suit their personal needs and taste.

Its been awhile since my last post. Lots accomplished since then. I fabricated some fender mounting brackets from L-angles I purchased at Lowe's for about $3.00 each. I used my trusty dead blow hammer and a vice.

I used carriage bolts through the wall to mount the fenders.

My original plan was to build a hatch for the galley. However, with the back of the trailer being flat, this didn't work out. I ended up making doors instead. The galley is officially complete.

I'm building a box to cover the air conditioner. Ventilation will be provided from the bottom. There will also be a small hatch to access the spare tire which will be stowed inside the box below the a/c. The box will be skinned in the brushed aluminum and have the same edge molding as the main trailer.

Well, we had a total rethink and redesign of the a/c cover box. I was not happy with the one in the previous post. I used my airplane building skills and tools to make this one out of aluminum. It's 1x1x1/8" angle with .063 skin. Everything is held together with rivets.

That old man in the Battlestar Galactica t-shirt is me. The spare tire will go underneath the a/c.

We started this build on November 14, 2014. It is essentially complete except for a few odd touch-up tasks. Here are a couple of interior shots. First is looking forward, and the second is looking aft. That lovely woman is my wife, Jan. She deserves a special award for putting up with me and my hobbies for over 40 years. Our two rescued doggies are Tootsie and Lucy.

Thanks for the kind comments.

Here are a couple of shots to show my low-tech galley water system.

Image

The faucet is a hand pump type. No electric wires or motors.

Image

The "tanks" are 2.5 gallon containers with a single hose dropping into each container. You can't get much simpler than this.
