Ok here we go...PMF!

Got the top hinge spar in the hatch installed tonight and the two new one piece center ribs fitted.
Was suprisingly easy considering all the dread i had envisioned.
I ripped down the intermediate ribs and hopefuly fit them tomorrow then days of sanding and poly to follow!

Thanks frank and i found my lock assembly today
The place you recomended i couldnt find but googling the description on thier catalog i found another place. $65 delivered but i still need a handle.
I want a stainless,aluminium or chromed brass handle and ive found one for $50 that has a proper house style key and the barrel can be removed from the front by a locksmith if i have any issues later.
Some cant and if the hatch is stuck locked im screwed.
I weighed the hatch assembly on the bathroom scales and it came in at 15kg.
Not to bad considering how much the stack of hardwood i built it out of weighed
Now i need to work out my struts.
Oh.... i bit the builet and got a hurricane hinge from queensland

Were you able to return the gear hinge or did they just stick their head in the sand and say no?

Havnt tried yet mate.
They wont want to.... i might have to pull the consumer affairs legislation on them.
Its a long drive down there though....i may just keep it for Ron (later Ron)
