It's peeled! Still curing, and I've got a fire going in the shop to speed it up. It will really pop when I get the black pinstriping surrounding the graphics on it. I can't do that till at minimum late tomorrow. I also have to wait till it cures, then finish up the door jamb. It needs it's 2nd color white since the wedge cuts across the door. Doug

There will be 249 people really bugged at you, Doug, if you don't bring this beauty to IRG...

Very cool. I wish I had your eye for color and shape. You definitely have a nack for design.

Hey Doug,

Great job, really captures the era for that trailer style. Only one problem so far, I overheard that some people think your side graphics are upside down!!   Maybe someone will be able to compile a list of corrections for you to make after it is finished.

Jerome...I gotta pretty good hunch that someone will...maybe since the paint isn't fully cured...I'll go out and wipe it all off with lacquer thinner and re-tape and spray it right side up. Doug

Same thing as on the front, but not quite as deep...wanted to cut the "mouth" appearance of it. Doug

THAT has got to be the WORST paint scheme I've ever. . . .

OK, Doug, just busting ya' for a minute. That is really fantastic work you got going on

What did you mean by
"needs it's 2nd color white since the wedge cuts across the door."

So tell me Doug, why is it that your color choice and my color choice ends up being the same. I've already changed my flooring. I'm not going to change my color scheme outside. Oh, ran into more rotten wood on the back of the F & S. It's amazing what you find when you pull the skin off a vintage travel trailer. :? By the way, your's is looking good, don't change it.

Starleen2 If you look at the door jamb and the exterior frame on the door, still in primer...they need to be painted out because the teal cuts across it and I shot the teal first. It had to all be installed and in place to make the lines match up. If I painted the white first, since it's not the same type product, the "hotter" urethane would have lifted it in any areas that overlapped. You can lap an oil based enamel over a urethane but not vice versa. Others may have, not be though. It's a cost thing now....not going to buy the high dollar paint for the jamb and I'm out of urethane white.

I still have to remove the door jamb and seal it with butyl tape. I was concerned that the solvents in the urethane would cause it to want to get too soft if I sprayed it with the butyl in place. Doug

Gage....it's a cool color! Sort of an electric Teal.....so we got good taste and it fits right in with a vintage era. Kinda like tomato soup red and charcoal...another great combination.

I keep thinking I'd like to redo an old one, but finding all the little "problems" makes me glad I just did it from the get go. I may not have all the correct vintage windows, but I can live with that. I like working with new materials.

PS...it ain't getting changed...just razzing Jerome. I need to live by my tag line if I'm gonna post it. Doug

Wow! Lookin' good! The front of the trailer looks like it is smiling! Just like many people smiling when they look at your progress photos. With any luck (on my side) maybe we will both have different trailers at IRG.
