The woodworking on your teardrop is just beautiful. I love your choice of curtain material. It is striking against the light wood and the design elements on the fabric are really interesting.

Excellent work. You will no doubt have gawkers everywhere you go with that gorgeous trailer.

Have been watching you build........VERY NICE JOB!
We have been working along in a parallel time frame. Got to lay down on our matress with doors doors closed on Christmas Eve.
Sandi has had our curtains, linens, comforter, etc, made for months now, with hopes that I would have our TD ready for one fall camping trip. Never happened!
But, we are raring to go for the Spring! And can't wait to personally meet all you nice folks here on the Forum.
We too hope to make the Dam Gathering our first Long Maiden Voyage??? Only thing that might hold us back will be the birth of our third Gradchild Apr. 26/13.
Sandi wants to stay home for a few days after.....so we might get off to a late start.
Maybe someone will save us a spot for "Miss Piggy"?????
Can't wait to meet you guys.
Good Roads
Brian & Sandi

Hi Brian, Thank you Sir! We've decided to join everyone at the Dam Gathering this year too. It will be a very great pleasure to meet you and Sandi. :) And to see your Fantastic 'Miss Piggy'!

Hi Andy, Good to have you back and thank you for your kindness Sir! I'm sure your build will be perfect for you as ours will work for us. Happy building.

Hi ya Becky! Great to hear from you and thank you dear Lady! I read on your build thread that you're also waiting for spring or at least warmer temps! ;) Me too!!! The curtain material was a lucky find, we haven't seen anything like it since in the fabric store. We used it as a foil for the bedding accept the sheets. My Mom had a dark blue queen bed sheet set in storage and offered to donate them to the cause...she's great. So it's to be light wood, tans, warm browns and dark blue. Should be nice an cozy.

Hopefully we'll get back to work in a month or so. Thank you all for following our build.

All the best,

Dave

Thank you Jim Sir!!!

With all the winter prep around the house I haven't got very much done on the AT. We did get the first of the interior decorating element installed...the curtains are in!!!

Passenger door curtains from the outside.

Driver's curtains from the inside.

It's likely going to be slow from here on till spring if we get our normal winter weather.

Thank you all for your continued support, it means a lot.

Did you build around the matress or do you have hidden access.

Hi Clintstuckless, It's a 5" foam mattress that bent easily in half and fit through the door at an angle. We then flopped the foot of the mattress down and then slid it under the cabinets. We've got 2" extra space side to side and a little more end to end. If you had smaller doors, you would just need to roll it up tight and shove it in. :)

All the best,

Dave

I am planning to use a traditional inner-spring. Just trying to figure if i need to build around or make some kind of mattress hatch

A few builders have used inner spring mattress's and have had to make special doors and such. There are several reasons that most use the foam type though. They are typically thinner - 5" VS 8", lighter weight, and can be shoved through smaller doors.

Hi Debbie, Yep, it's time to get back to it especially if we're to make the gathering with a finished trailer.

Cheers,
