That is really an impressive build.

I have thought about this, and am still thinking about it. If I figure it out, not a lot of space here, I will post pictures.

Today a lot less bondo and more work on the door seal. All my clamps are currently busy. First I finished the spacer.

Then started installing the lip, and used all my clamps.

Tomorrow go to store buy more clamps.

Perhaps a constant drip edge around the outer door seal, to deflect the bulk of the "falling water''...????

Well sorta'.... just wrapped neatly around the very outer edge of the door opening..would be invisible (almost) if you painted it and would deflect alot of water/rain away from the door seam ... less to try and seal out on that angle... we have a lot of rain here, and it's always a major consideration ...

Your trailer is a real BEAUTY and so UNIQUE... :D

Del,

Wonderful build! You have far more patience than I do. Kept myself up way too late last night reading this thread.

Did you ever get an answer/picture on your question about the missing piece on your heater flue?

I have one that looks to be (about) the same and the outside piece that is missing on yours is just a flat plate (wind deflector I think) riveted to the 4 standoffs. Will try to get a picture tomorrow and post it if you still need it.

Later,
Dave

Dave although I have decided against that heater in this build, the next build may get that heater, so a pic would be a blessing.

Del I have to say the JellyBelly is a most impressive build to watch.

I've been looking at the image in your avatar and wondering how you are planning to hinge and latch the door with that crazy curvature you have to work with.

The avatar suggests a very short hinge, which would seem to leave the door vulnerable during travel. No doubt you have given it thought, given how well thought out the rest of the build is. It's just one of those things that I can't envision.

I too am looking forward to seeing the yellow paint and completed project, it's just so unique and quite an ambitious looking build.

Perhaps something like this, for the gutter?

Image

Colour code: red gutter, blue body, green door, black seal.

Because of the angle of the body, you wouldn't have to use a gutter-shaped piece and I think just something like 3/8" square wood strip would do it and yet still bend around the door opening.

Was thinking something more like this .... water not caught by drip rail, would be channeled away by the U shaped gutter..

The image in my avatar is computer generated, with no hinge. I have built an internal hinge (binford headbumper variety) for this trailer. No pics as of yet, sorry. As far as paint I want it on yesterday, but first a door and hatch seal, oh yea sanding.
