Extreme Makeover: Jewel Box edition

...ask your questions in the appropriate forums BUT document your build here...preferably in a single thread...dates for updates, are appreciated....

Wow ... pretty bad when I can't find my own build thread! Means I haven't updated it in so long ... haha

It's been waaaayyyyy too hot in the last month or so to get much done on the trailer. But it's cooling down now. The formica is on, the interior roof is on and things are rolling again.

But then last night my builder Kenny's dad was in the hospital with congestive heart failure and not doing well...

I'm thinking the build is gonna change or stall or I'll have to do some other options.

I'll get a new pic up soon.

Thanks for the update, but at least you are really far along, I hope everything works out for the builders father and your build as well.

 It's possible that your builder will need extra work to keep his mind off his problems and your trailer could be the solution. The trailer is in a good spot (Free sheltered parking is a good thing!) and you know you won't be camping in it this year. That means he's got the whole winter to work on it, if he wants to. I'd take a wait 'n' see attitude.

Nope, she's bringing it to LCG5 in October. If it comes down to it, I reckon there are a few of us that can come up to OKC to help get it done -- or at least campable.

CD

Sharon , actually in our part of the country the camping "season" is starting again ... fall and early winter are good for sunny days and chilly nights! I'm already booked for our massive LCG in October, and pencilled in for Ray Roberts & our Christmas campout . and maybe another in between there.

Glenn, that might be a request one of these days. Kenny has 10 acres in the country, LOTS of room to park teardrops and a fishing pond too .
I haven't run that idea by him , but we'll see.

Formica is on countertops, birch is in. The counter slides , and there will be a slide out/pull up stove counter .

Interior roof skin is in .

 The bread boxes are cool and the pull-out counter is a very nice feature.

I still can't imagine that it will be done by October...but, may be camp-able.

Finally got some pics up! You are close but it will be tight! You have two full months and the weather is finally out of triple digits. Hope it works out ok!

Thanks ... the bread boxes won't be just for holding bread. Actually hold about 10 soup size cans... but will realistically hold chips , marshmallows, etc.

I'm thinking of putting a small toaster oven inbetween them.

Cool idea with the breadboxes. Hmmm....
Holy cow, Rose is a teenager now! Done? Surely you jest. A teardrop is never "done".

YEAH!!! for cooler temps! ahhhhhh.....

"Some" more work on the trailer. Getting close to wiring and hatch will be made next weekend I think.
AC placed on 'headboard" and interior liner was finished.
Image

YES I'm doing some work! did the priming in the cabin interior, birch in galley has first coat of polyurethane, and I got fenders sanded and repainted... still getting that done right.
Image

Also got the first layer of foamboard put in the roof , and then next comes wiring and hatch! I'm getting awfully anxious!

OH ... but we did have a little fun this Labor Day weekend. ... took a nice motorcycle ride with friends up to Woolarac and Bartlesville. Great day!

Well, no news is good news? hmmm... things are moving slow. Life gets in the way when you're making plans.

There's more done on the headboard now. Electrical plugs are in and fronts on either side of the AC.
Image

And hatch is finally started. Electrical is about done, no pics of that. And this is one coat of poly on the galley fronts.
Image

My car issues (luckily , I get it back tomorrow!) and other things have made me decide to just borrow a friend's camper for LCG and take our time with this rebuild, get it right and have the beautiful debut at BB2011.
