Thanks, not much rain. Yes the deadline really motivated me to get it road worthy. Now I'm thinking of all the other modifications I want to make. But I'm very pleased with how it turned out. It is much roomier than it looks in the pics

i just stumbled into your build thread. i love it! and i can't believe how much of what i want to do with my second one is what you did here. however, there are at least 2 things i see that i did not think of.. i hope you don't mind me stealing from yours. i love your bed/couch, and i love the front build up(can't describe it). but those 2 areas i am going to incorporate into mine. congrats to your camper and your first outing. :applause: :wine:

Got a new Tow vehicle, don't have to borrow one anymore. Not a lot of updates. Put a real door knob with lock in the door. About to finish the electrical and add the light on the back. Will put pics when I do, it will probably be the same light as the interior. Going to make the toilet "box" bigger to put a little more distance between the user and the "stuff". Going to redo the screen on the front window. And hopefully put the metal roof on and interior paint before our next campout, last weekend of October.

Hey Deryk, I am actually laying in bed nice and warm in it as I write this. I finished painting the inside. Sky blue ceiling, light yellow interior.

I Stained the countertop and built a flip down shelf over the counter ( mostly for the laptop to sit while watching movies).

Cut out the ext toilet box I had made and put a hatch over the hole, so it looks the same as before in travel mode but when I get to destination I put a 5 gallon bucket in the hole and then a trash bag goes in the backer from above.

This gives it a lot more depth and distance from user to waste. This new set up gives a lot of options if it was a long term bug out living situation as well. (Always good to be prepared).

Lets see, I also added the exterior light, put a new flip up (hinged) screen on the inside of the window opening, which allows for easy installation of a window unit without removing the screen. I also installed the sink, faucet, and plumbing for it.

The two other main things I have left to do are: install a corrugated metal roof, with about an 18" overhang over the back (which is technically the front door) to act as a porch. And put down a vinyl floor, I think I'm just going to install stick on tiles for price, easy cleaning and durability, plus I can change it later easily if I want.

I'll send pics later today, gotta get back to some camping

No, I haven't weighed it but I'd be surprised if its over 1000 - 1200lbs. I'll try to get it weighed sometime soon, I'm curious myself.

It's been a while, still going strong. I added a couple of upgrades, permanent window AC built in below the futon. Enclosed the port-o-bucket toilet. And tiled the rest of the floor. It has been very comfortable to camp in. It's like a little mobile hotel.

Hey Wolgie! I know this build is a couple years old now, but did you ever get around to putting a metal roof on? If so, how'd you do it? I'm fixing to start a build, a lot like yours. Matter of fact, I picked up some really good ideas from you - thanks! Roofing has me slightly perplexed though...

No, but I'm actually getting around to it. I'm just going to cover the roof with roofing underlay meant then screw the galvanized sheeting on. Then I may cover the front openings of galvanized roof with so something to prevent lifting and noise on the highway. I'll update when I do it. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions, I'll look forward to your build.
