I was able to work on the td this long weekend. I it really looks like I am getting closer. I am trying to get it to a point of being water proof.

Saturday I primed and painted. I used Rustoleum Hammered Brown. It hides all the imperfections.

Paint and details seem to bring out the trailer's "personality".

Ok, got that all done last weekend before the rain storm that hit yesterday. Now I want to get the vent on and I need to get the aluminum trim and weather stripping for the hatch, doors and roof edge. I also need to get the door and hatch latches and then it should be weather proof for the winter and I can start on the inside. But I wont be able to do any more till after the 1st of the year. I have a lot going on for the holidays. Merry Christmas everybody.

Vedette, Thanks
No room in the garage so I just cover it up with a tarp for now.
It seems to be water tight at the moment, but I am always checking on it.Image

More rain do here this coming week. I am glad I got a couple of coats of paint to seal the plywood.

I am busy with my CT right now, but i still have the idea of having a TD someday. So to that plan, I am going to bookmark this post for reference in the future. If I ever come across a used utility trailer like you have, I think I will think about gobbling it up and store it for the future.

Looking good your making short work of it.
Can you post a pic of the staples and gun you used please.
Any reason a pass ode style fixing gun with brads wouldn't work?
Cheers dale

Dales you can try it but I'm thinking that brads have such a small head they will pull thru when you bend the ply around the radius there is a lot of tension or spring back to it. I really wouldn't suggest it

Hi Daless133, I agree with backstrap bandit. I have a set of pneumatic tools and I choose staples because of what I read on this site. I had a little trouble even with the staples blowing through the plywood sometimes. My air regulator was giving me problems. Also the difference in the resistance of shooting into softwood and hardwood struts would change the depth of the staples.

Like backstrap bandit said if you are bending 1/4" plywood like I did it really wants to spring back. I had to readjust my straps several times because of this spring back and it even pull the staples through the plywood a couple of times.

Here is the staples I used.
