Can you take a shot of your Wiley windows. :pictures:

I will be putting them in my trailer too, I have them cut but not assembled. I am starting on the doors if the weather will let me cut my 2x4s in half length wise. I have a little table saw I set on the driveway to cut. mine will be a hollow door. The door will be attached with commercial door hinges.

Your trailer looks like it will be fun to sleep in. what are you pulling it with?

Nice job nice job :wine:

I'll get a picture of the windows up soon. I am planning on selling it, but I am going to keep it for a few months at least to travel with. I will be pulling with my 2000 Subaru Outback wagon. I kind of made up the design for my Wiley Windows, so I really have no idea if they will work, but fingers crossed

So where do you drill holes for the water to run out? And do those holes go all the way through the door? I guess I just don't fully understand the Wiley window concept

viewtopic.php?f=21&t=57192&start=30

look down this page they show some very good examples
this site is all about those windows.
Michael from Sydney Australia has helped me the most, and Andrew is best at lilistrating it.

my plan it so have a pc of sheel metal at the bottom I should cut the angle side on one side a little shorter so drip pan is higher at on end and will run out on the other The door is not made yet so you have reminded me to make the window hole to accomidate the wiley window run off.

Thanks for the tap on the shoulder

Here is my frame, just a rough design. If it fails, I'll try something else.

Looks like you are making great progress. Nice to see more Wiley windows, especially with the circular aperture. As you will have seen in the link that Ron gave there is no limit to the variety of window shapes possible.

I can not see from your photo is you have incorporated a gutter/trough at the bottom of the assembly. The waterproofing of a Wiley window depends simply on gravity. Just make sure that any water runs down and out.

Working on the trip. For the trim along the roof, I cut 1/8" thick strips and an gluing them down one at a time in order to make the curve. Then plan on piecing together the trip that runs along the wall face.

On to the wall trim. I cut the pieces rough to shape, then took a flush bit router along the top edge. After that, I un-taped them and routed the curve down to 1.5 inches all the way around. Still need to glue and sand

Guys the doors are up and the trim is almost done!! This is such an exciting time, sitting through class is difficult because I just want to work on it. I figured only the guys on this forum would understand.

On a side note, I was looking at the gate hinge and latch section at Home Depot, and I definitely think there is some stuff there I can use as a cheap alternative to the galley handle. I'll let you know what I come up with

Been a while since I posted anything, but here is where I'm at. I'd say it's pretty much done. There is always small work to be done, but this is most of the construction
