Made some progress over the last few days.

Ended up using the rubber cement method, but it didn’t quite stick everywhere. Figure half float have stick, either one is right or both are wrong.

Installed the door to hold aluminum in place to finish cutting the profile.

I wanted a roll of ally for the roof, which I can find that is 103 inches wide and (x) amount of dollars per foot. Found a cheaper place in Chicago, but shipping was about as much as the product. And yes, .040 too. So I decided to go the cheaper route and lay panels across each other.

This was Sunday evening. Got hatch skinned and trimmed, the hurricane hinge on. Next I was on to the tongue box ally cladding

Tongue box on and nearly complete. Just have to finish the curvy trim pieces. Need to mill about an 1/8 off the lip. Then I can install. Just wanted to get the box on and start running the electrical. Waiting on Amazon to show up with more parts.

Here’s a good look at the rear. I need to make some sort of spacer for the underside of the hatch and skin it. It looks unfinished. I normally wouldn’t worry about it, but it looks god awful and when the hatch is up, everyone will see it. Including me!
