Did some small cleaning and polishing this evening. Cold outside so cant do much but all kinds of little things yet needed to be done. On the back of one of the tears I found a reflector and I thought I had to clean and polish it up since I didnt know what era it was from .. well after its nearly repolished to a good shine I googled the info on the reflector and to my surprise it was not an oldtime piece of nostalgia   But ok I never saw such of a reflector here so its unique in a small sense.

I,ll install it back where it was. A new one costs about a greenback dollar.

Take a look see here. This is what it is. It was on the galley hatch under the back light :?

Getting to the point where all bits n pieces are redone and restored.

Now its to go pic out paint color however still undecided with it. Glass for
the window frames is on order and the oak framing is now cut and ready to be resintalled.

I know this build isnt receiving much in replies but maybe you will still enjoy the slow progress as I dont have time to spend building at present as much as I want.

Hopefully Im not posting these just for myself.

Here are just a few pics in case some are interested whats happening to the California Kits here in Finland. These are the only known Kit tears in all of Europe and Scandinavia thus far. So these must be restored or redone with quality in mind each step of the way. ;)

The window frames were bead blasted and rewelded where needed and primer painted. The color most likely will be a Candy Apple Red. Im real glad I took the time to restore these. Even though I do have windows from Grant .. ;) These will also receive new seals as well. Will certainly look vintage and brand new. :D

I forgot to mention that these windows are 2 parts. They have a single hinge on one side welded and the other free that bolts onto the main frame to hold them together. These were frozen tight from rust. And it did take a lot of soaking in rust remover to get them apart. But got it done and they open and shut as new now. I have more pics of that too and I,ll post more in an hour or so. :P :pictures:

Also here is the reflector that I mentioned above. It still needs a through polishing once more but its looking good now compared to what it was.

 Thank You so much. Im definitely trying to make this a not so boring build thread but Im not so good with words. :)

Im glad how they turned out so far. All 4 frames have been redone and will be repainted since both Kits are under work progress at the same time. Also the paint and spraygun setup will be worth setting up doing as many pieces as possible since paint is incredibly expensive here.

Here,s another pic of the frames and hinge back on. :) The new glass will have a slight smoke tint to it. All Marine Purpose Stainless screws will be used to mount the windows back on.

The windows look great!

I may not comment on many of the builds but I'm certainly loving watching them all. It's making me want my own teardrop more and more.

Too bad what's left of my paycheck is less and less.

Heikki thats what i love about this forum and members, here we are all over the world doing our own little thing and having all these wonderful builders wishing they owned each others builds. i like to work with my hands and build stuff and i can thank my DAD for that because he was my biggest Inspiration. I am just trying to be as good as i can be and if people like my work it is a great feeling. and yes i want a tear like yours

Hello Heikki

Nice project you got going.
I think that the 2 wires are one for the taillight and the other for Stop/turn light. It needs to be in contact with the ground via the body.

Hello Heikki

I have been absent for awhile. Too much work and time pend otherwise. Its too cold here to work on the teardrop. But I have been doing some other work on a trailer and chassis. Its not a travel trailer so I am not going to post it here. Its just a cargo trailer
