Beautiful! Your wife did an excellent job on the stain. It's good to hear you still have the motivation after your surgery. Sometimes things like this can take the wind out of our sales.

I wish I had involved my better half more in my build. Y'all keep up the good work.

That looks very rich and beautiful. Can't wait to see it when the varnish goes on and the wood grain really pops out there. It's going to be a gorgeous trailer.

Ok It's been a busy weekend. There are now four thinned coats of semi-gloss varnish on the roof to match the sides. It sure is shinny when wet, glad we went with semi-gloss. 8)

Tomorrow weather permitting we start Power Tools 101.

If this don't scare you, nothing will. This was Cynthia's first day using power tools (router, jig saw and belt sander) and she did great. I'm glad to report that all her fingers and toes are still attached. A little more practice and she'll be ready to cut some trailer parts.

Your teardrop is just beautiful. Introducing a woman to the wonder of powertools is a dangerous thing!! But heck, most of us have been using power tools in the kitchen most of our lives, so power tools in the garage aren't that much different.

LOL. Yup, had me a good chuckle over that one. But of course it is only funny because you are only joking, right? Right? (The correct answer is yes...just say yes, trust me. ;) )

Your totally correct Becky, I use a router to whip up the fondue and teh jigsaw for teh pie and pizza cutting all the time. How much faster teh potatoes get peeled using a disl sander. Table saw for the bread and circular saw for dicing.

Well Forrest, I was actually thinking of blenders, mixers, food processors, electric knives, food sealers and the like.... but thanks for giving me some new ideas.

Actually the "And now you know why I'm scared" was Cynthia's idea. She readily admits she hurts herself more in the kitchen doing simple things than anywhere else. But hey, she's game to give woodworking a try so we can go camping in our trailer next year. I'll do my part to try an teach her how to use those power tools safely.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words and encouragement. I had my post-op appt today. After talking to the Dr and listening to what he had to do for repairs, it's apparent that I really messed up my shoulder. I now have several screws anchoring tendons to bone and can plan on a long schedule (at least 5-6 months) of PT. Oh well at least it's during the winter months so if all goes well the trailer and I will be ready to go camping in the spring.

My super woman wife got a little more work done on the trailer today.

Image
Oops! While drilling a starter hole for the vent, the drill bit came off the drill. Glad I wasn't in the trailer.

Image
Cynthia did a awesome job cutting the hole for the vent fan. Just look at the concentration.

Image
One hole for a vent fan temporarily filled. Later this week the vent fan will go in.
