I got the cushions ordered as well as the awning...The cushions along with the table will be a big dose of gray on the interior. It won't take much lighting to make the interior nice and bright. If you've ever camped in one of those late 60's early 70's trailers with the dark paneling type interior, you'll know why I wanted the bright look. It may be just me, but a dark trailer is depressing to sit in. Paint like this one is done in can be touched up easily if damaged and is easy to clean.

Plan is for tomorrow to make the drive down to Sac. and get the correct hinge for the door. They got the steel ones in now. I got all excited when I saw that there was only one left so I grabbed it. Unfortunately, it's in aluminum, didn't pay attention, and I don't have the gas for the welder to do the aluminum. On a door hinge like I'm planning, since it needs to be cut and modified for a screen door, I prefer steel. Doug

Doug,

Another thoughtful touch; the fronts of the benches are angled so it's easier to slide in. Nice!

Gray and yellow is one of my favorite color combinations. I am anxiously watching this one come together. Are you selling the Sierra Nomad? At the rate you're going, you could go into business with a "rental fleet." You'd probably have a ton of business too because your trailers are all so beautiful and unique.

Thanks...however the plan is to get this one finished and then off to a vintage trailer gathering up near Lake Tahoe. I'll put a for sale sign in the window. I gotta get it done first though. It won't fit in the garage and the pine trees here are so tall that the cones are like bombs dropping, not to mention the pitch from them. I'd like to camp in it for a while first though. This one will be tough to give up I'm afraid.

I did get the table done today, and a bunch of work on the front window. The aluminum is 42 years old and is really corroded. I'm sanding them and then painting them up with a metallic silver....hides a fair amount of pits. Doug

Thanks Tom...I like doing something different on all my trailers. While the colors on this one may be out of line for some people, I think when it's all said and done, it will be fine and will present well. Doug

This trailer is coming together so beautiful. You had better get your camping in before you put that for sale sign in the window because someone will scoop it up in nano second.

I got the table built and installed...built the overhead storage and installed it, got at least 1 more piece of ceiling up, but do have several others painted and ready to go. Got all but one window painted and detailed. Spent a lot of time putting in support on the walls for things like the awning track, electrical cord box, water fill, hose connection, galley cabinet. It's a real paint hog...takes 3 coats of paint to get it coated out. I've got 2 gallons into it now. Window trim yet to be done will be painted in grey. Doug

Stellar, just stellar. You have such an eye for pulling it all together visually; the colors and the deco design. It seems to just fall together so easily for you. Master craftsman. Thanks for sharing.

Very impressive.
