Well, went to get the epdm membrane, paid for the .45 mm and they gave me the .60 instead. So thicker roof for the same price! Made my day lol

Used with great success as a commercial roofing for flat and low slope roof types!

I think it is a great choice

Thanks! I like my vardo's to be a little more then just a place to sleep in. I'm planning on being able to have a few friends inside if the weather got cruddy outside.

LOL

I like another name I came across for the more modern style vardo's. A "whoopy wagon". LoL

Well got some more work done this weekend, never enough lol but thats normal I guess.

A friend happened to be over my friends house and he helped me get the rubber roof on, still needs to be trimmed, and I have 2 metal straps to fold the rubber over the underside of the roof and screw it in to secure it, less likely for wind to grab it and try to pull it up.

The original weatherforcast was to pour all weekend, well later saturday afternoon after a few hours of just humid and overcast I said to hell with waiting and rolled on the primer coat...made a few jokes of leaving it white to match my Rav4 lol Image Image Image

I got the locking doorknob installed as well as finished the last inside wall. I picked up a nice pair of 12 volt rv interior light, thought I took a pic, guess I didnt lol, got the wireing done and installed the battery box, just need to pick up a battery this weekend. Also got the AC gfi outlet wired in as well, so the lil vardo 2 has "power" lol. Image Image

Im gonna be crashing in it this coming weekend for our "Rocktober 1st party" and plan on towing it home on sunday. Hopefully will have 2 coats of paint on it at that point lol cause it does look awful with 1 coat of white primer on it lol. Need to get the inside wood varnished because the 2nd weekend on october Im taking her camping. Wont be done, but will be campable at least. Still have to cut the exterior trim to go over the 4 corners, skirting the bottom of the trailer, and 2 10' lengths to go on either side of the roof... naturally in a bright contrasting colour to the red body lol!

Looking great! One of the toughest things I have been working on with my vardo is how to make REALLY waterproof corner joints. I found these PVC tubes that are 4x4 square and intended to slip over wooden fence posts. I cut them at two opposite corners and came up with 2 corner trim pieces that will be easy to install, paintable and TOUGH! Just a thought.

These tubes also come in 8' lengths for use on porch columns. Just a word of warning.....cut slow or they can get hot and melt.

Hmmm very interesting, did you get it from Hd/Lowes? I agree that is an important thing to seal and keep the moisture out of. So how is your vardo comming along?

It's looking good, Deryk. I look forward to seeing what colors you put on as the final coats.

Is this vardo not as tall as the last one or is that an optical illusion?

Thanks Sharon! The trailer stands. They are both about 73" tall with I think 54" of headroom in the center. I can walk on my knees without whackin my head lol, I feel for me its a comfortable height.

Ah paint... I can't wait to start! And I have to beg an artist friend to paint something I want on it...

Yup, got them from the home depot I think. Thought about it and if you cut them into quarters you could get 4 2x2 corners if that size would fit your design better.

My vardo is camp able and was at CRA in July. It came to a screeching halt as last month I went into emergency room with horrible gut pain and went right into a 4 hour emergency surgery until 1 am.

I am told that I can go back to work and activities in 3 more weeks but will need to be very careful. So the plan is to do trim work and paint until I am stronger.

Ouch man.... Im hopeing you will be feeling better and back to working on your vardo real soon, nothing like a health related delay.

Yeah I was thinkin about it, will have to head over to HD and take a look at them. How were you thinking of attaching it? Is it thick enough to bury a screw into?

Well, got to roll on a coat of red this weekend, got my new 12 volt lights installed, and realized I need a 3rd one on the inside by the door so I dont have to climb over the bed lol. Image Image Image Image

Today Im gonna roll on the 2nd coat of red paint. I really need to lightly sand the inside and varnish it.

She survived the 62 mile ride home from my friends house back to my marina, towed well, I know its back there but no strain on the Rav4. This weekend Im towing her 140 or so miles to a camping event, really lookin forward to a long weekend to rest lol. Still have to trim her all out but that will be another weekend lol.
