Did I forget something?

Postby ioan » Fri Feb 24, 2012 1:53 pm

Hello,
I worked on my teardrop for 13 days so far, I got pretty far and everything looks good... but considering that this is my first build, I wonder if I forgot something...
What else should I do before I start insulating the walls and working on the roof?
Any comments and advice is welcome.

Me too! Never seen a sink/stove combo like that.

It looks like you are making good progress.

Yeah, the sink-stove combo is nice. BTW, it's not blue, it's stainless steel (the blue thing is a film over to protect it while shipping). It's kind of pricey, but my wife wanted it. We paid $187 for it here http://panther-rvproducts.com/SMEV-MO0911-2-Burner-Sink-Combination-MO0911.htm?categoryId=-1

Probably too late, but you should loose the drywall screws. If there is any flexing, they will break. They are very hard and brittle and should not be used in place of wood screws.

You are way ahead of this newbie. I just registered today after researching teardrops for about a month. I think I have all my materials figured out except the doors.
Yours are exactly what I am looking for! Can you provide some info on where I can get those same doors?
Keep up the good work. I plan to start catching up with you in about two weeks.

Yep those doors are SWEET. I bet they added a pretty penny to your build cost, but the finished job will look SO profesional with them. Well done on your speedy progress so far.

I have links to what I used and the cost on my website http://teardropdiy.com. The doors, you can buy even better ones than mine (with windows that open) from ebay for $240 each. I got mine as a deal from someone who builds teardrops, both doors for $230 (but the window doesn't open, that's why he wanted to get rid of them). So, like I said, you could just search on ebay "teardrop door" and you find some good ones.

I got a pound of exterior screws to replace them. I'll replace them all. Thanks for the tip.
