Thanks Sharon, Hope you had fun at the Dam Gathering! The maiden voyage went perfect. Yes a few want one built, but I am done and will enjoy.

Ok fitted one of 2 Kayaks on the racks. It took 2 of us to put up, but I can remove on my own. So everything looks good to go.

Really like your build Dan, you do very nice work including the top racks.

One question: how long is your rear overhang on the kayaks? Just wondering if they would need to be flagged, down here over 4' has to have a flag or light on it. Once again, awesome job.

Thanks Shaun, We have the same requirements as you over 4ft. flag rule. I do have room toward the front, trailer with tongue is 12ft.long and Kayak 14 ft.6in. So I will be on the good side of flag requirement.

So we did our second trip this past weekend. The trip was to Algonquin Provincial Park, it takes approx. 5hrs to get there. We travel the last portion of trip down a logging road about 30 miles. I did get a bit of pitting on my alum. fenders but decided to tape them out for the ride out, just to minimize the pitting. It is worth the drive to heaven(camp). The blackflies were out but just buzzing me and biting the wife, and our Jack had one bite but dealt with it. The weather was great and water was calm but cold as the ice just went out about a week earlier. The trailer loaded for bear handled flawlessly.

So finally got my last set of graphics in, and it went on great. Also the plan is to plasti-dip the fenders black. From our last trip down the logging road they acquired some pitting, so to protect them from the dirt roads I will give them a coat.

Thanks Terry. He is an 11yr. old Jack Russell (Parson) and was cropped from the breeders. Your puppy is cute....

Can't get a clear look, did you put a drip rail for when the hatch is up? I am building a similar style hatch and while it doesn't rain much in San Diego area it's still something I want to address. I can see how the rain would not come in while it's closed but when it's up that is my question.

Hi Paul, I have a drip rail but have not installed it, I am usually camped under a tarp 90 percent of the time.

Yeah that's what I have been leaning to as well. Good to know. I wish I knew some one local with a Break I'd like to make my own trim for the hatch too. Did you make custom trim?
