My new camper build

Postby davidniebeling » Mon Mar 18, 2013 9:22 am

A couple of years ago I built a TTT but my family has outgrown it now. This is a link to my original camper build. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Pj_qWmH-38
I have started a new camper build that is going to be a little bigger (6 wide x10 long x5 tall). This is a link to the start of this trailer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lT8JGdkkfAU
I built a chuck box for the new TTT this weekend. Here's the link to that build. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OON0LbBrNGw
I would love any feedback anyone may have. I'm still learning and would love any constructive help you all could give me. Thanks and Happy Camping!!! Dave

I enjoyed watching the videos of the builds. Probably the best part of the builds is the time you get to spend with your family. I have a couple of best buddies also. We spent a great deal of time camping as they were growing up. Priceless memories. I wouldn't trade a minute of that time. They are both currently away at college  but when they come in we always talk a little camper talk. :) :) I look forward to following your build!!

Hey Steve70. Thanks for your comments. I have 2 grown boys and when they were young I had a cab over truck camper. AWESOME memories. I now have an 8 year old and we have loved camping over the last couple of years. And yes, they do grow up fast...too fast. My oldest son and his wife just announced that I am going to be a grandpa!! WHAT THE?!?! Yeah, more memories!
Keep and eye on my posts. I only have 8 weeks to finish the camper before we go on 10 day vacation to Minnesota, Iowa and the Black Hills. I gotta get busy! :? Wish me luck

I didn't have much chance to work on the camper this weekend (too darn COLD!!! in the low 30's) All I got done this weekend was to figure out the general shape of the nose. I used some 2x4's to figure out the shape of the nose of my trailer, but after about an hour of work it was time to go inside and warm up. No pics of this, so you'll jsut have to wait till next weeks update of the build. (OOOH, suspense!!!) Next weekend is supposed to be in the 50's so it will be a lot nicer to work outside. I do all my building outside because my "workshop" is really just a 12x12 shed where I store my tools. Don't get me wrong, I am very greatful for my little shop and my tools, I am, however, at the mercy of the weather. Well, that's it for this week. Keep the comments comming and HAPPY CAMPING!!!

Well, I finally got a chance to work on the camper this weekend. The weather was great high 50's low 60's all weekend. I got a lot done with the help of my son Topher. I am having a great time teaching him some of my "skills" (or lack there of)!!! I hope you enjoy my video. I look forward to any comments or suggestions you might have. Hi All, Thanks to all who have posted and to those who have watched my build videos. I get such a thrill out of sharing my build and hearing from everyone. I made pretty good progress today. This is the third weekend of my build, 5 days total. This week I had a guy offer me parts off an old camper he was stripping. I got 9 windows, a door frame, a table, and a bunch of aluminum hardware...FOR FREE!!! I love it!! I still gotta go back to get the stove/oven, refrigerator, and heater. Anyway, here is the link to the video:

Hope you enjoy it and HAPPY CAMPING!!!

Nice build

Just watched all the videos. Looking good. Just one comment. Are you planning to undercoat the trailer
at all. Or did you do it and just not show it in the video.
