Definitely looking serious
Looks like the frame should withstand " All Out Tactical Warfare"
It would look at home with a Bren Gun mounted and deployed atop her :SG

Could wage war on the mesquitos when ya go campin

Let me guess, your little hatch box key says CH751 on the side?

I guess I'll just have to share the beer since I can't effectively lock it up!

The glaciers have receded, time to start drinking wine and cutting wood! The trailer build is back on. Look what followed me home from the lumber yard today...

Matthewp's MuTTT (Multiple Terrain Tactical Teardrop).

Postby matthewp » Sat Apr 26, 2014 6:27 pm

It was nice to get some woodworking started. Today was all about the side walls for the sleeping area. I'm using 1/2" marine ply for the outer skin and 3/4" marine ply for the skeletonized middle section (for the insulation). The roof will end up being double 5mm ply over 2" X 2" spars (insulated, of course!).

The side exterior for the driver's side with the door and utility hatch (water supply, electrical supply, battery meter, etc.) test fit.

The design drawing for the skeletonized middle wall...

... And the cut section in wood.

Just a suggestion, cut the wood, then, drink the wine.

We have lots of infamous threads (with pictures) when that order isn't followed.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

Have no fear Sir! The wine is for medicating my old bones after I'm done! Thanks for the double-check though.

It's starting to look like a camper... And a little bigger than I thought it would look! All the numbers are adding up though.

So, how does a paranoid builder who fears equipment failure secure the walls of their teardrop?

5/16" bolts and tee-nuts!

... And, is a 2" X 4" too big for a rear hatch hinge header?
