NOT Fantastic

Postby pohukai » Sun Jun 22, 2014 2:06 pm

After a year or so of camping with the wife and 4 dogs, I decided to add a little more ventilation to my teardrop. I know the fantastic fans work well, but I don't know where all the expense goes in solving such a simple design, so here's what I did with some scrap 1/4" poplar.

I'll use computer case fans that I can flip to provide reversible air flow. If things don't go as planned, I can always shell out the big bucks for the fantastic fan.

Several people have posted that they use case fans with great success, situated like in your photos. Since I have A/C, and a high flow main fan, 102842 I didn't opt for a roof-vent (though I considered a Flettner Ventilator, for venting the galley/storage area only). But, I use computer case fans for air exchange even with the A/C running ( there's a thread: air-tight trailers can kill you!), and they're mounted on hinges that either force air out a butterfly wall vent, or turned, blow air around the cabin.
