Playin with profile

Some more 12oz engineering going on. Input welcome. Maybe there is a real name for certain profiles. Kind of a canned ham front and a benroy rear. Maybe a canned roy?

Mine is very similar in profile, but a small change in the front was done. I ran the front wall as a vertical surface. My reasoning was as follows.

1 - Wanted to maximize storage in the headboard area, so that gave more interior volume (5' X 9")
2 - Had a tool box already on the trailer in front & it was squared off at the back (too much trouble to change the shape, & too cheap to throw it away)
3 - Wind load isn't a consideration, because the TV pushes the wind out of the way.

Yeah, arch the roof a little instead of the slope, flip it around front to back, and you'd have a pretty close version of TPCE.

I like it.

I also made my front wall vertical because of my planned integral tongue box (which morphed into a bump out locker and separate TB), but it would look cool to have a matching tongue box with the same slope if you are up for building it. I can't remember at the moment who, but a member here did their TB like that in the not too distant past, with both the front and rear of the TB matching the same raked forward slope and it really looks good. I'm embarrassed that I can't remember the thread.

Better still, but with the more severe slope you are starting to give up interior space for cabinets. Not a lot, but some, and storage space may be at a premium in these things.

Going for a more tear shape roof line. actually gained head room. I'm used to packing minimalist style so storage is secondary to me. Only camp in summer for long weekends.
I just need to figure out how to lay out the hatch so I can have the weatherstripping seal right. I want the bottom edge of the hatch to come flush with the outside edge of the trailer frame. Wish I had a template for a manufactured door. I plan on using one.

Just a wild ideal. What if One has tongue box that is part of the cabin. Reverse the bed and use the fake tongue box for the foot of the bed. It would make the cabin about 2 feet longer and still be 1 sheet of wood on the side. Just a thought One could also lower the floor 5" after the axle in the galley area to replace some of the space lost in not having a tongue box. Just thinking out loud!!

The integrated tongue box works well. I used it to add 6 inches of headroom to my sleeping area.
