This will be teardrop number 4, and I'm approaching it a little differently than the last three. The first trailer took me by surprise; it was a Cubby I bought at about 10% complete. Number two was a 5X10 Modernistic, which I still have. The third was a 4.5 X10 hybrid Modernistic in 4.5 X 10, and it was just too small.
And just like the last three, I will start out by saying that this one will probably be the one I keep

Anybody who knows me will tell you that I get a little obsessive during a build, and with my background in high performance call manufacturing ( I ran the Ariel Atom assembly plant line while it was here in Ashland), I tend to put my head down and just make it happen. This means I don't really pay attention to people around me, and so the last two, while they took me less than 90 days each from start to finish, were less than satisfying to Cindy and I when they were done.
This one is being designed and built from the inside out, with the form definitely following the function. I originally planned to have Gull-wing doors, but they would have been incompatible with pop up shelters, so they're going to be suicide doors instead. The galley will have a higher counter to suit Cindy's height, an icebox and a drawer for the Yeti.
Overall, the look will be semi-off-road, but without the big tires, at least initially, although I am starting off with a Dexter #9 with a 22.5 degree down angle for a little more clearance. Adding fun and challenge to the build is the addition of a Padawan Learner in the person of a friend's son, who will be using this build for his Senior Project. It's pretty ideal, actually; he gets to learn about welding and woodworking, and I get a captive audience to yammer at

Staring slow, probably not much going on until January, but I promise to be faithful with journal entries this time
