I've got gobs of stuff set to be delivered. I decided to go with the northern tool 5'x8' for my first build. I've got a Fatantastic-Fan on the way, some regular outlets with 2.1amp usb ports, switches, and porch lights.

Next up I need to find a dome light, two personal lights, an inverter to convert shore to 12v, a deep cell battery, and doors. I'm going to order up the pre-fab doors a couple of people sell. Also need to do a wood run, plan is to do 3/4" ply sides, and 1x2 frame/ribs. Going to be using 5'x10' sheets to get the profile I want. Plan is not to tear back, and do barn doors.

Plan is to have it campable in a month. See the subject line, and my rant in the top of this post.

The goal is to be as tall as possible while still fitting in my garage. I have a pickup for the tow vehicle, so wind and weight aren't too big of an issue. Additionally I can work remote, so a little extra head room for a little extra comfort.

Inside cabinetry layout. I decided to not do a shelf over my head, I'll have my mom sew up a hanging bag kind of deal. That way no matter what there's nothing hard to bang your head on.

Received tracking info on the trailer yesterday.

Rough guestimate (commence more laughing):

1) Assemble trailer (2hr)
2) Frame floor (8hr)
3) Skin floor (4hr)
4) Paint floor (2hr)
5) Seal floor (2hr)
6) Attach floor framing/skin to trailer (2hr)
7) Cut down two large sheets for passenger/driver side (3hr)
Cut in openings for doors (1hr)
9) Attach sides to trailer, use temporary spars to keep from pulling in/out (2hr)
10) Frame in galley (1hr)
11) Skin inside of galley (1hr)
12) Attach spars on the front of trailer (1hr)
13) Attach spars on the top of trailer (2hr)
14) Skin front (1hr)
15) Skin top (1hr)
16) Build galley door system (???)
18) Sand (2hr)
19) Fill screws/gaps with putty (1hr)
20) Sand (2hr)
21) Rhino line

Doors arrived via ups today. For the price, I expected a little bit more on the build quality. I bought http://www.ebay.com/itm/380896599360 and http://www.ebay.com/itm/261213574174. They both have issues. The packaging was exceptional, so it's clear they where packaged up with issues. Not sure if they are built by this seller, or ordered in bulk from somewhere. I've reached out to the seller to see what he can do for me. Some sort of discount or something. I can't see it as being cheap to send them back, and have new ones sent out to me to only have more issues.

Weather sealing joints, except, they completely missed the joint, this was an issue on both doors:

Weather stripping not seating into place, even with lots of pushing, this was an issue on both doors:

The last issue was both doors the slide latches to hold the glass up, the latch side didn't hold it's bite. By simply putting your hand flat on the glass, and pushing down, that corner of the glass would start coming down. Pretty worried about what's going to happen on the road.

The next teardrop I will be making my own doors. Seems like I'll be able to save a lot of money and weight that way.

In roughly about two hours the seller and I came to a resolution. He is shipping me a new set without these issues tomorrow, and a return label for mine. I'm very happy to see that this seller is willing to cross ship to keep my build on schedule.

I agree, very refreshing. As long as the new set comes in without all the issues, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the seller to anyone.

I got hit with a $14 handling charge, which is fine by me. I'm on a time restriction, and I don't think I have the patience to splice. I ordered up three in case one is damaged beyond salvage. If I don't need it I'll simply return it.

Vendor of the doors called me this morning. He went through sixty doors, and discovered weather sealing issues on 20 of them. He said they also have scratch marks, but are mostly covered by the trim ring. Some scratching is the result of the dye and can't be helped. The scratches on the one I received seem excessive for dye marks. He's also instructed his people on what's ok to ship and what isn't.

When looking at the new set that arrive, I'm going to be mostly concerned that the weather stripping is correct. Light scratching will be fine with me as long as it's not on the exposed side of the door. Will keep the thread updated.
