Thanks Tom! This is actually from my first camping trip of the whole year in May Hugo Lake just across the state line into Oklahoma. Nice COE park and I am liking these parks more and more, very inexpensive.

We’ll have to check out Hugo Lake. I’ve been looking into COE parks lately. They seem interesting but we’ve never camped at one before.

They are alot like state parks in that they have large campsites, unlike so-called "resorts" where it is really just a parking lot of trailers crammed together. They are alot more laid back, the main drawbacks used to be that being laid back they are less maintained as far as parking pads and restrooms but they are slowly changing with better bathrooms (so happy for the new "your own room" bathhouses vs vault toilets) and alot of the pads are being redone although I prefer the old worn out ones because they feel more natural. In that last photo, I am in a "site" although it was gravel so now it is completely covered in grass and I like that! I have stayed at two COE parks on Hugo lake and both parks are similar where one loop is rustic (old) and another is brand new from A-Z.

The previous photo was from the rustic Virgil Point and the other one is the new loop at Kiamichi Park. Here is a photo from the latter :)
