I've been working on this for a while, but am just now catching up to posting about the build process. Building a 5x8 rugged teardrop to improve foul-weather camping for my wife and son. Here's the progress so far
Building the frame out of 2x2 1/8" thick steel
Getting closer
On her own weight!
Got fenders framed
Frame done with a couple coats of primer
Couple coats of paint
Got the floor on
Walls up, everything is 3/4" baltic birch. 5'x10' sheets
Galley coming together! Bulkheads were fit together with dado joints. What a pain it was fitting the walls down between the fenders.
Started on the roof spars which are 1x2s glued together
Some interior cabinets
Ran the electrical for the running and clearance lights through the frame
Starting the insulation and roof underlayment
That's it for now! I've been working on it since September 2018, shooting for completion by the end of Summer 2019.
