I tend to agree, Bruce, but the better half doesn’t see it that way. She’s read too many Facebook build group posts about folks who go out half cocked and never complete their builds.

What I have left to do:

- Galley cabinet doors & wiring
- hatch gas struts
- interior bulkhead wall
- some interior paint & caulk
- interior countertop
- new tires
- propane rack & testing propane connections
- mounting solar panels
- some undecided leveling method
I'm a happy man, I love my life!

I camped in the van whenever I added a new cabinet; I found that what I really needed for storage was never what I thought it would be when I was building. ;)

When I was single, I moved into the van as soon as it was liveable. Several months in, I built the upper cabinet in the shop in Texas & installed it while camping in the National Forest in Colorado. But right now, camping would just pull me away from things I need to finish.

I definitely live in a similar world Mark. I have my finished TD from 2016 and love camping with it. But right now I'm trying to make progress on TD #4, a foamie 4x8. I'm having a great time building and it's kind of the buggy season still here so I'll make up for the lack of getting out starting in August. Fall is my favorite camping season anywho.

I figure it’s worth the wait since I’m building to camp year-round, the wife is off three days every weekend and I’m semi-retired, and we’ll be able to camp every weekend that we’re free once this is done. Then I’ll have time to get back to practicing and playing music during the week.

We bought damn near *everything* that goes in my kitchen early on, my wife found utensils, towels, pots, pans, skillets, etc. all in our color scheme (turquoise & red) so I’ve built the kitchen cabinets such as to accommodate all that with a little room for more.
