Boy Dan, something about that KIT just doesn't look right. I'm pretty sure that the '46's only had one door. Also it looks like the frame has been flipped.

The tung looks like it should curve upward not downward.

...and he says it is only one of two known to exist. This apparently, from the guy HE bought it from....(who I am sure had absolutely no agenda...)

Restored in 1959 and it states that it's only one of two to exist. Dan will square the seller away. ;)

The draw bar (tongue) actually bolts to the frame and it definitely looks like it was reinstalled upside down. Also the trailer sits way too high for an original Kit. I would bet that it has a replacement axle and springs of some kind. The galley does appear to be original.

I dont think that the fenders are original, You can see where the old bolt or rivet holes are.

Ok sports fans...here's the scoop! It does appear to an original Kit. Year...well the owner claims he has a title saying '46, but that is not a guarantee.the ID tag is mutilated so cannot go by that. Kit did go to 2 doors in late '46 but to say it is 1 of 2 known...I cannot say for sure. All Sportsmasters, (and this may be one since it has the stove) had 2 doors. It does have original frame and axle...axle mounted upside down as is tongue. Kits with their dual torsion axles had the trailing arm angled up for a low stance, so with it flipped it now angles down. With 650 tires it does sit tall. Original propane bottle and stove, bottle dated 1946. But so was the one in my '47. Although this stove does light!!! Original water tank and spigot. Countertop is now SS not aluminum as mfg'd. Skins are ALUMINUM...not SS. Orignal ice box and early style push-out windows. 6 lug wheels. It appears to be Grants fenders...and original fender mounting pattern evident. Has tape residue along galley hinge...maybe leaks?? Front right corner separating a little. After market taillights. 12 volt battery and lights...original galley lights but cabin light is replacement. Mattress has been replaced as well.It appears that some sort of insulation has been added in ceiling. Interior shelf is missing. I am not trying to hammer this guy just wanting to accurately describe it. This is a confusing one. By my records Kit did not make Sportsmasters until '47 but who knows. So many of these were altered thru the years. Maybe someone bought the stove and bottle and added them and the later added the after market fiberglass fenders.
