This is our Schiebout Little Gem, "Bugg" model.

From the first time I spotted a Schiebout Little Gem, I decided I just had to have one. With a cabin at 8 feet long and 7 feet wide, it would be difficult to find anything much smaller that wasn't a teardrop.
After about a year, I finally found one.

Before:

It was in terrible shape, but after two years, this is what if looks like today:

Two neat unique ideas are in this trailer. A original built-in portapotti that slides out of the bench. There is a curtain rail that runs the length of the trailer for privacy:

And a "Murphy Bed" which in the up position is a table:

Table locked in to position under bed. The bed is hinged to the benches:

Bev:

I like what you and Bob have done with the Bug but I doubt I could live in something that small with my three dogs :(
It must be nice to have a live-in worker who knows what he does. I have to hire good help

Very cute !!! You did a great job!

Is that the original stove ? And it still works well? And the porta potty is an easy pull out ... good!

Those things make the old camper keep it's retro feel.

Happy Camping !

Thanks everyone:)

Jewel,
Yes, the stove is original and works. We also put the porta-potti (the original bag-style) on new sliders so though it's pretty heavy duty, it slides easily.

We can't wait to take it camping:)

Beautiful job. I like the profile a lot. What would you say is the inside height?

Bob and I went out and measured the interior height just now.

I personally believe we lost about 2 inches during the rebuild. This trailer had some extra damage done to the aluminum due to some handmade awning hardware.

Ours is just under 6' inside at it's highest peak. Both Bob and I are under 5' 8" so we neither one have any issues at all with the height of this trailer. I also always figure that most folks don't stand that long inside a trailer anyway except for cooking purposes.

The bed is a nice length too, running the width of the trailer at 7'.

Thanks Gage! I'm sure yours will be wonderful!

Wow! Thanks! Didn't mean to put you to any trouble, but I appreciate it.

No trouble..... gave us an excuse to get out to the trailer. We were actually sitting in our winter coats sipping on hot cocoa in it the other night.

Bev, what a sweet little trailer and the restoration job is beautiful! It looks like you didn't lose any valuable storage space either. Thanks for sharing those great pics.
