Canvas for 2.99 a yard

Postby lrrice » Sat Oct 17, 2015 11:06 pm

I just ordered from big duck and they have 7oz in the bargain bin. That may be a little light for the outside, mines going over wood, but it might be thrifty for the inside.

I used 7 oz canvas on my foamie. I thought it was adequate. It's certainly good enough over wood.

75" here's the link.

Are you saying it would be OK for over wood on exterior? If so, I'm ordering.

I'm using the big duck 7 oz on the outside of my tear.
I think it is plenty heavy enough.
It is super nice quality by the way.

Based on my calculations for my current design, I needed 15.75 yards. I ordered 20, so I'll have extra. Might do plain canvas on the ceiling to, so I will have plenty.. Couldn't pass it up at that price. :D

Thanks for the tip!! :applause:

Its good you ordered extra.
When I washed mine it shrunk quite a lot in one direction. 10' became a little over 8' !

When I did my 4x8 I bought 20 and was scrounging for remnants to finish the inside.
It would have been neater if I bought 25-30. I'm sure I wasted a little bit.

Been watching canvas prices for a while. That's the best price I've seen, hoped someone else could get some cheap too if they needed it.
