I understand where you are coming from.
But, I like the looks of a round window. And, they
need to have screens for ventilation.
I spent a good hour searching the web for round
windows that opened and had screens. Couldn't
fine one that opened.
As much as I like the looks of them, I would never
consider putting one is a 5 or 6 foot wide teardrop.
On the build in this thread, having the 2" thick walls
eliminated a good portion of the part sticking in
the interior.
For me, it is not about being cheaper,
I personally think it would be cheaper to install
off the shelf rectangular windows.
It is about getting what I think is more appealing to the
eye. My eyes anyway.
Edit:
One benefit is, in using the window coverings like
used in this post. There looks to be much more
air flow available when covered compared to
conventional curtains on swing out windows.
