The T2 wins with ease of attaching ... the edges stuck fast , everything solid .... The gripper sticks fine too but we had to go over all the edges with the hobby iron to seal the edges down ... grrrrr!!! Gripper as well as the T2 does respond to the iron trick ... All very smooth now, ready to receive the lockset and block and window cutout ... !!! 8)

I was going to mention the iron trick. Works very will with TBII and TB original but not TBIII. You might consider a regular iron and iron out the paper over the whole door to made sure it is stuck down.

GPW. That is a procedure for veneering with TBII. Works after it dries.

Randy , that reminds me of when we used to attach heat shrink coverings to balsa frameworks .. Applying thinned Elmer’s carpenters glue to the frame and letting it dry , then ironing down the edges ... Worked Great !!!

Now it seems I mis-spoke myself .... Went back and checked those Gripper edges , and yes, they were lifting ... :frightened: So a little brush with some T2 took care of that ... Still thinking of using the T2 again for the covering... It worked before (well tested) ... and it’s cheaper ...

Made up the block for the door latch ... Most door locks only go up to 1.75” thickness, so we’ll have to use some “extension” bolts ... Not a problem ...

The plan is to canvas the rear of the trailer today ... and it looks like Rain ... again ... :duh: Sure would be Nice to have a shop to work in .. FS is too BIG for the Studio ...
Going to WM to pick up the AC ... so at least we can work on the inside ...There’s still all the priming of the wood (ribs, floor) inside to do ... so never at a loss for something to do ...despite the weather ...

Another drawing ... ... The rear covering plan ... Can’t cover it in one piece ... the canvas is only 60” wide ... so it’s piece work ...

Suggestion. Sort of echoing back your own advice. The little inside corner under neath the bottom lip; you may want to think about doing that first with a thin strip, then the main vertical sheets can just wrap around the outside corner and will tend to lift less.

Of course, unless it is raining already, by this time of the morning you are probably already done.

That’s a good point !!! Will do that !!!

Naaa!!! not even started... lest we wake “Her Worship” from her holiday “beauty sleep” ... :frightened: Trying to be considerate , difficult , but we’re trying ...

I’d just like to mention the many benefits of a CLEAN work surface to cut the canvas parts out on ... the Bigger the better ... You don’t want to roll out clean canvas on a dirty surface , otherwise all the little bits will stick to the canvas (naturally ) and “telegraph” through the canvas and paint finish ..... grrrrrrrrrrr!!!

OK... Initial measurements made and drawn on the rear (Sharpie) , all surfaces sanded and brushed down to remove any remaining particles ... Actually vacuuming is not a bad idea either !!! First the strip on the bottom (Thanks KC!!! ) then the larger piece. I did “soften" the door frame edges slightly (hand plane /sandpaper) to lessen the strain on the fabric across the sharp corner surface ... Some Al trim moulding might be Nice on these edges... later ...
And a pic of the cutting table , which is just about to get a nice kraft paper top taped on ... keeping it very CLEAN ... ;)

I have to be particularly careful of the Gazillion (literally! ) little foam dust bits and beads...which seem all too ready to jump on a nice clean piece of fabric... so can’t get the fabric , near the ground , furniture , or even myself .. :frightened:

Added the KC strip ... Then painted the T2 straight onto the foam and attached the second big layer over that ... The very bottom is yet to be trimmed...
