GPW

Looking good.....

At his rate, you will be done with the outside by the end of the week and if mother nature decides to get wild, you have a good trailer to get out of her way.

Looking good.....

WG , we still have to get the AC (the wife talked outta’ trying the Wal Mart today ... :o ) The windows (and door hinges ) should be in Monday , then we can cut the holes and cover the rest ... weather permitting ...

George , Yes the T2 works , sticks better for this Thick canvas, and as said before ... is Cheaper .... have to get more of that now ... So while we’re out picking up the AC (tomorrow ) , we’ll swing by the HD and buy a couple more gallons ... ;)

Had a "revelation” about the AC mounting  ... The previous drawing ^ shows the AC mounted above the floor , but further thinking leads me to want to put the AC ON the floor .... better support for the unit , easier to do ... All we have to do is cut the bottom stringer off between the ribs where the AC goes ... adding a small shim inboard to set the proper drain angle .. Simple ...

Ps. Starting to cool off a little now .... will try to get the rest of the back done ... As you can see , covering is an unhurried job .... just taking my time and getting it right ... :D

So you are gluing the canvas on with TBII. Correct? Will you then fill the canvas weave with gripper or plain paint? Does sound like it will take a whole mess of what ever you use.

Randy , just paint over the top ... I kinda’ like the weave look ... all part of being a Foamie ‘ ;) .. The “nature of the beast” ! Besides this THICK canvas is pretty uniform ... the weave is only apparent up really close ... And the really Nice thing is this canvas doesn’t stretch or shrink , just sits there, and doesn’t tend to unravel on the edges like the other canvas we had ... Should be a really STRONG skin... (the canvas on the Foamie #1 feels like paper compared to this stuff ) ... :o

You can see the canvas is almost the color of the building already, so it should be pretty easy to cover with paint .. and that’s basically what it will look like ... before decorating ... 8)

Thanks Bonnie ... had to forgo a BBQ and pool party just to “Get it done ! “ The wife went without me ...

Will you thin the paint so it will soak in better?

And you probably answered all these questions previously.

Keep up the good work. Who knows maybe my ship will come in soon and I can start quicker building on my trailer.

Randy , you know it probably wouldn’t hurt to "size” the canvas with some thinned out something .. likely T2 thinned with 75% water ... just to make sure ...

All the best to ya’ !!! We’re always waiting for that ship to come in ... and just try to keep busy while waiting ..
