KC, it is looking very good. So many details & items to match up but it is starting to come together well. This is real sweat equity.

Thanks kudzu, I appreciate the thoughtful words.

Made a lot more sense to set the trim in now than it would have to try and do it after the walls are up... when I would not be able to get the router into the corners.

So hot yesterday I didn't even think twice; went straight home, no progress. :(

Yesterday I kind of held back at work a little longer, and stopped at the Ho-de-po for some fasteners on the way... hoping that the temps might start to drop off some in the early afternoon... and it was still 95 deg F in the loft when I arrived at about 5:30pm. Humidity was down to 55/ct, or so, and after dropping the windows fully open and turning on the big fan it dipped to 93 deg F almost instantly. Okay, so I can work on the rear trim strip for the galley floor edge downstairs where it's a bit cooler.

I took a few pics, but will have to add them in later. Nothing too exciting, just laying out the countersunk screw locations 6 inches on center, then offsetting the ones on the back face halfway in between those so that the screws don't clash with each other on the inside of the angle. Karl popped out and lent a hand, so that went fairly quick. Nice being able to lock the piece in the machine vise and use the depth setting on the mill so that all of the FH screw heads end up perfectly set in round holes.

No way to download those pics here at work, and killing a little time before heading out, so maybe a second report later... if the heat doesn't sap all of my energy and brain capacity. :?

Spent 3 nights reading thru the Green Goddess FrankenHealey Hauler thread that Grizz posted. Cool project if you're into vintage racing and/or neat old trucks.

The weather report from Karl at 1/4 to 5 was 90 deg F in the shade at ground level; add at least 5 deg for the loft and we are above my established personal threshold of 91 deg before brain fade trumps progress.

No pilgrimage today. Too hot to go home (next year the window unit goes in in June, damn the wife... she can wear alpaca socks and a turtle neck... I can only take so many clothes off and sitting in front of fan doesn't cut it), so stopped at an AC'd pub for a  .

I think I need to put my swim suit in the car so I can go to bro/sis in law's pool at moments notice!  and a little :x .

On the bright side of the Force... at least you have a nice DRY place to work ... That means a lot eh ?

KC, a trick we use for extreme heat is to keep some wet/damp hand towels in the refrigerator and cooler , put them around your neck as needed ... very refreshing 8) ... temporary relief till you get to the Pub...

I suppose I could start carrying a cooler around and keep frozen towels in the shop freezer at work, but that seems like a lot of effort for little gain.

Here's a joke that Yvette has been getting a few yuk's with, and she's not really the best joke teller, so it must be a good one (I also posted it on another thread about trailer size perspective in the General forum.

I hope this isn't too risque, but here goes...

Guy and his wife are pulling weeds in the garden. Guy checks out wife's butt and says, "gee honey, your butt's looking kinda big". She ignores him.

They work on and he can't help but say, "my that is a big butt", she shoots him a cautionary look, but doesn't say anything.

They work on a bit and he says again, "deary I think your butt's gotten bigger, look here, it's as big as the BBQ grill!" She continues to ignore him.

Later, after they've had a chance to clean up and cool off, he's thinking back on the day and starts getting a little frisky. She turns to him and says, "if you think I'm going to fire this thing up for one little wiener, you've got another think coming!"

   :D ;)
