Nookery Updates -- 25 Oct Update. Working on the galley

Too hot to do anything today. I did get the roof patched yesterday.



I will backfill the small gaps from inside. Next up is getting the solar mounts figured out. The bracing will be glued to the roof inside and that has to be done before the floor because the solar panel won't fit through the door.

The ethers bond will be applied tomorrow. I've already trimmed the extra canvas away.

Got the cabin flipped. I trimmed the edges and removed the last of the rotted wood. I couldn't resist dry fitting the floor. Glad I did. The passenger side front edge is about .5" off square.

I'm looking for suggestions. Do I carve that bit away? There is some play in the walls, but not that much. I am concerned that much of a ledge would attract and channel water.

Everything else sits true, or true enough. That made me very happy.

Yes the floor was slightly Bigger than the cabin ( my bad ) ... I just flared it out to meet the floor , but if you grind it off , a "Drip edge" would be a nice addition , easy while you’re at it ...

You can see the prominent floor sticking out from the front ...

Drip edge is a good idea ... JMHO , I think everybody should have them ...

Boy, howdy! The weather broke and I got busy!

I thought I'd show you the plan I'm using.



Important only as a general reference. So far all the measurements have worked.

I also painted the fenders and my lone drip eve. Here's the fenders:



They now come very close to matching the color of my truck!

I'm not very fond of great stuff, but I used it today to finish up the roof repair:

The roof repairs are reverse order. I wrapped the wood in wax paper. Then users pavers to weigh everything down. Worked pretty well and wax paper doesn't stick to great stuff.

I also used gf to join two pieces of foam for the galley side wall. I used a lap join. I made the cuts 1" by 3". Here's some pics:



I ended up having to fill in one side after things had set up some, overall the lap join worked really well.

And I cut and dry fit the cabinet pieces for the front. Here's a shot of every thing pieced together:



I also cut the remaining end piece for that cabinet. Plus the galley side walls and the cross pieces for the bump out in the cabin. I think I will need one more two inch foam sheet to finish this project.

Now, for a question. Has anyone just primed and painted the foam? The front cabinet is really just for looks as the Ikea Thules are going to be mounted directly to the wall.

Somebody have a beer in my honor. Whew!

Getting a Lot done ...

Pushing hard to be able to attach the floor this week. I planned the galley addition and have the panels cut and covered. All that talk about decopauge gave me the idea to use some paintable/scrubbable paper I had lying around. I did sip panels. The paper's glue was supplemented by 25/75 mix of TBII and water. Came out pretty well.



A few waves, but I don't think the will show.

I also placed and trimmed the vinyl for the interior floor. I trimmed it out to the wall edges using a quilter's square and a small utility knife. It's held in place with 3/4 brass screws.



Last but not least a shot of the changes to accommodate the frig. Bonus shot is a mock up of the fridge slide tray. It fit!



The fridge will ride a bit higher than the 2x6 and will be on a 18x28 shelf. The frame is actually a bit smaller and will allow the shelf to cover the top of the 2x6.

Oh, and last evening my neighbor came over and helped wire up the trailer lights. They all worked first go!
