So the LED headlight / tail light / turn signals / reverse lights is complete. New light assemblies up front are done and pending out back but Amazon sent the wrong thing out of the chute...

The install of the headlight assemblies and plug and play LED conversion bulbs. Complete with struggling to get the tabs to release, and grab again... Sometimes "better ideas" are a pain in the tail...

Installing the LED bulbs in the existing taillight housings, and the new turn signal housings up front, complete with screw ups...

Tomorrow is getting tires installed, going with Venom Power Terra Hunter XT all terrain tires. Basically they are Chinese off brand copies of the BFGoodrich All Terrain TA KO2. ...and likely swapping battery. I have what appears to be a parasitic draw in that the battery seems to go flat whenever it feels like, but a draw test shows .08amps which could easily be acccounted for by the clock, audio system live memory, and there is no way that should cause the battery go flat overnight. Load testing the battery itself gives me squirrely results, sometimes it looks good, others not so much...

Spent some time crawling around under the van as well, measuring up and trying to figure out how to replace the plumbing system that was ripped out...

Long term update. Engine swap on the Craptor is making progress. Doing a trans service in the shop prior to dropping the new engine in, new engine 99% prepped. Going to drop all the oil and rainwater out of the old engine, move 2 more sensors over after verifying them, and put the old angine in the crate probably this weekend. New engine is on the stand still, we are ready to wheel it over to the drive and get it on the shop crane.

Hoping beyond hope we can get the engine in and at least the motor mount and bellhousing bolts on it this weekend, get the hood back on it and keep the chickens away for now... (Long story).

Hustling to get this done, VERY long story but shorten it...

Have camper van, bought to deal with IBD and travel as a single widower. IBD managed now, and I need sleeping space for a lovely widow I am involved with so we can travel together... Back to the truck camper...

Going to lose the factory hi top camper shell and going back to the idea of a foamie slide in camper of sorts. Again once the engine swap is done...

Going to try to keep it simple as possible, but with the following requirements.

#1. Be no issue for a 1/2 ton truck weight wise. Thus foamie construction.
#2. Have a queen size bed. I'm a big guy and my travel companion needs space too...
#3. Mounting and ducting for diesel heater, and 5K BTU Window AC.
#4. Have as much interior volume as possible, so designing it to work with truck with tailgate down, this would get me a total of 9' from start to end of the floor of the camper.
#5. Space for a port o potty. Even if just to carry it to camp.
#6. Reinforcement to attach awning.
#7. Not unduly abysmal aerodynamics. No illusion this will be great, but not abysmal...
#8. Place for a 60L fridge, water tanks, and a countertop to hold a Coleman Stove when I have to cook inside...
