Making my list for a trip to Loew’s ... 3M 5200 ... do I get the regular or the fast drying ? .. screws for windows , weatherstripping , threshold ..

Gotta’ stop at HF for a LED trailer light kit ... paint store for the trim paint and tape .. more stuff to get ... :money: This "work in progress" is starting to add up now ... over 1K clams now ... :o

Get the regular - it'll set up fast enough with the temp and humidity you've got. Cure times on that stuff are slow to begin with. Bear in mind that the white 5200 is famous for yellowing in the sun. Most boatbuilders don't use it above the waterline. The Sikaflex LOT291 doesn't yellow nearly as noticeably, but 5200 takes paint better (still not really 'paintable', but better).

I don't know if you've played with it before, but it will get everywhere. I mask everything really well because it's a whole lot easier than trying to clean it up. Shape the bead, pull the tape, perfect every time. I know with a lot of painters, masking is a sign of weakness, but the only solvents that will clean up 5200 and Sika (acetone, xylene, etc) will also eat the foam....not sure how they'll get along the Gripper.

That drip cap looks great.

Up early only to catch the rain ... so inspired, I did a drawing of the drip cap ... Pretty simple and should be really effective on Foamies' ... with a distinct possibility for some artistic interpretation ... Make it as Fancy as you want ... Hmmmm? Great way to use up some of those scraps (I hate to throw foam away ) ...

Today might be a good chance to go Shopping for all that “other” stuff ... can’t build ... can’t dance ... :rainy:

Back from shopping , poured rain while I was out .... Got the trim paint , 3M 5200, window screws, weatherstripping ,masking tape (green) , threshold, and the 4” wide fiberglass tape for the "tension bands" (seam covering)... so we’re good for now ... Until I think of something else we need ... Now for a little dry weather to apply all this ... :NC

Did you not put a lip on top to contain the water and force it to the sides? That would not only keep water off the door but also keep it from running onto anyone entering or exiting.

I was thinking of a lip/channel, then gargoyles for the spouts to direct the water away from the sides of the TTT. :D What he has will work too.

I've been playing with SIP door and door jamb designs...

Right side is door, and left side is the wall. Still a work in progress.

Looks like we’re going to get a break in the rain ...No rain today :o ... It’s gonna’ be HOT , but maybe we can get some more work done ... The plan today is to add the tension bands ,do the door trim and weatherstripping and lockset ... and with any Luck get started painting ... :dancing Getting really Close now to being dried in ... that will be a major milestone , not having to cover it up all the time ...

Got the 4” fiberglass bands applied ... gives a nice finish over all that overlapped canvas , making it just a little bit less obvious...and a little stronger

With the gluing in of the window opening fabric , we’ll be ready to paint ... :D  8)

JMHO... FWIW ... TB2 still outperforms the gripper for adhering the canvas to the foam ... Just Sticks better ... (opinion) Once we used the gripper , we were reluctant to use the TB2 over it again , although some minor testing indicated it would work ... we really don’t like mixing finishes ...
Next build ... :o  ... we’ll use the TB2 to adhere all the fabric to the foam , and then use the gripper over that ... it is a Good Primer ...
