TIP: When using the Gripper , it’s Best to keep a Wet rag handy and just keep wiping your hands off as you go ... (frequently) gripper comes off pretty Easy that way .... Once it dries on your skin it becomes Trouble to remove !!! :frightened:

Got the door “stops" in ... all back primed with Gripper...have to finish painting it all before adding the rubber weatherstripping ...

I'm surprised that you didn't put the drip rail on before paint(?).

Paint on the 'stream! :applause:   Looking good. Even the "design element" looks intentional now.

Thanks Bill, I’m trying to get those windows in as soon as possible ... The wife and I folded up the Huge tarp and the intention is not to have to use it anymore ... Maybe ???

Was wondering if I should install the windows now and just paint around them (2nd coat) allowing the window sealer to be painted too ? Or just put the 2nd coat on and wait on the window install  No rain forecast for today .. just trying to get it all waterproofed ... ASAP ... The rains won’t hold off forever... :frightened:

The door ... it fits well except a little tight :o I’ve traced the fault to the hinges which have no countersink in the screw holes ... The plan is to remove the door and hinges and drill the countersinks in them , which should give me an extra 1/16” -1/8” clearance , which will make the door fit “just right” ... :D

GPW,
Why not just put a second coat only around the windows for now ...
then you can install them, and finish the rest of the paint later.

I feel compelled to report ... the more we use the Gripper , the more we like it as a PRIMER ... but NOT as a Glue for attaching canvas... Still some signs of skin lifting even after a careful application of the Gripper to both sides  ... It could be the extremely thick canvas I’m using ... Haven’t tried it with a Thinner canvas .... Just sayin’ ...

I am waiting to see if the painted canvas shrinks in the heat , and magically re sticks itself down ... But we may have to inject some T2 under the bubbles to take care of the problem ... Thinking since we have the deep kerf slots still exposed , i could go in from inside the trailer and punch through the thin area between the kerfs to inject the glue .... no holes in the outside ...

Ps. Copied to the Glue section too , just so nobody misses it ...

What do you use to inject the full strength TB2 with?

I tried this with a small hypo and needle (veterinary supplies) and the glue was so thick it wouldn't come out. I'm on the fence about thinning the glue; after applying a thinned coat, then a full coat, on the underside of my floor I think the full strength coat worked better.

KC , I was thinking of one of those huge plastic plunger hypo thingies’ (hobby shops have them ) .. We would have to thin the T2 , but that’s better than no glue eh ? ...

Bonnie .. the “goodies” are yet to come ... I already made a tiled logo for the FS , will print it out , use a pounce wheel to perforate the outlines, transfer the image with a chalk bag , then just freehand paint it in on both sides ... I see some areas that will have to be “disguised” , (seams not exactly straight  ).. more “decoration” ... but that’s all later on ... for now , we’re still trying to just get it waterproof ... :frightened:

Did like Tac said and painted the second coat over all the window areas and inside the openings too ... ... Painted the Drip Cap too , the caulk appeared dry from yesterday .

Drilled the countersinks in the hinge holes , re-fitted the screws (coated in bees wax ) and now the door fits Perfectly ... just needed that little bit more clearance ... ;)

Ps. Remarkably the canvas that was bubbled on the Gripper attached areas appears tight now ... :o Wondering if the first coat of paint wetted the canvas causing some expansion which later went away as the paint dried ... Weird huh ???
