Yeah , I tend to get wrapped up in the details and forget the Main Purpose... But the wife is Extremely HAPPY with the way things are going ... guess that’s all that really counts eh ?

OK, so it’s a "50 footer’" .... looks Good at 50 feet away ...     Once we add the painted "distractions ", it can only look Better (@ 50’) ... The Absolutely WEIRD thing about all this is .... We hope we NEVER have to use it ... :o But I’m not counting on that ... :frightened:

Thanks Eagle !!! How are you doing .... well, I hope !!!

Surgery went well ... Pretty Quick to do ... all fine now and stuck well ... 8) Foamies ARE Easy to repair ... ;)

Ps. You can see by the pictures that the canvas was NOT saturated with the Gripper underneath , so the problems may not be the fault of the Gripper , but the fault of the old fool that applied it (wrong) ... :NC

Thanks GPW, yes doing very well. Just took a different road this year since getting the newer horse. Grandson has gotten involved in the horse world now, so we have been doing the shows. He is 6 and doing very well so far. 1 first place, 2 third places, and 1 fourth place, and 2 fifth places.
Won't go any further in to it, as it has nothing to do with campers or foamies. Don't want to derail your thread.

A little horsing around never hurt any thread eh ...   You must be very Proud of him !!! 8)

The “surgery" is drying now , so we’ll paint everything else first , then that .... Anxious to get to painting on the second color , which will drastically change the look of the trailer , so maybe it will look Good at 49’ ... or 20’ if you’ve had enough  ...

Went to put on my "Paint pants" ... and there was Nothing to wear :o ( you Ladies know all about that eh ! ) ... all hanging out on the Solar clothes dryer... I’ve ruined enough clothes already ... Have to start shopping for my paint clothes at the Thrift store ... same place where I find all those Cool retro bowling shirts (for a pittance) ... (band wear) 8) :D

Ps . Ever notice when you hang blue jeans on the clothesline , they get stiff as a board .... almost as if they were starched... :o Guess all the paint on them doesn’t help either ...

Have you tried the spackling over the seams but under the primer before?
They do tend to stand out and getting them really straight should be easy...(yea right!)
Just wondering I'd that would hide them.

Warren , a Foamie is a “Horse of a different color “ so to speak , and we’re proud of our seams !!! ... Guess you could do that , but they won’t go away entirely ... and you don’t notice them as much at 50’anyway ...   Trying to keep them dead straight is a major challenge ...but if you do them neatly they won’t be a bother ...not around here anyway ... 8)
Then , of course, there’s the painted “distrations” which will take the eye away from foolishness like seam watching ... just wait and see... ;)

Walking around the trailer , picking away at dried stray foam bits that somehow got in the paint , turned the corner and right in front of me was a Brown Recluse spider, sitting on the trailer , in their familiar H pattern ... :frightened: Just had to kill it ... Nasty little blighters !!! .. Always something to watch out for outside , or inside ...especially here in the Woods , where we have an un imaginable selection of critters , we’ve never seen before ...

Funny , in the front looking up at the rounded upper part of the nose sorta’ reminds me of a giant Basketball :o ... sorta’ feels like one too ...

You just need a good wind to whip them around a bit and soften them as they dry. ;)

Problem is the woods are extremely Thick this time of year and the breeze doesn’t get down here in the clearing .. Surrounded by a canopy of trees .. Not so good on a Hot day , great during storms , the trees block most of the wind... ... and if the wind’s strong enough the trees fall over.. One even fell on the house ... :frightened: Just some minor damage to the steel roof ... if you think I make a Strong Foamie trailer , you should see the House  ... The “Bunker” ...

Sorry for being OT , just waiting for my pants to dry ...

Looking back , seeing I really started building on May 8... Getting close to 3 months .... No wonder I’m TIRED !!! :o Now I can write my paper about “What did you do all Summer? “

Fenders ... Thinking I won’t get past the State Police inspection without some .. :NC I bought a PINT of Liquid Wrench and am soaking the fender attach bolts on the “other “ trailer (the one the wife would like to see gone out the yard, but we have future plans for  ) A Nice pair of galvanized “Dilly” fenders awaits , just the right size , and they bolt direct to the trailer , so no problems , save a little drilling and wrenching... Looked all over , but couldn’t find anything Thriftier ... pretty stoutly constructed fenders (thick steel) ..should do well to protect the FS bottom and keep me legal .... Now then ... this thing is just begging for come Cool mud flaps ... 8) :D

If the wheels are under the body fenders don't matter since rocks can't fly out. How wide is your body overall?

If your worried about the bottom just get some wide flashing and put it over the wheels. Cheap protects and doesn't give up any clearance.

Do you need fenders or just a mud flap behind the wheels?

My plan is to line the fender wells with some firmly attached steel. It's there to stop thrown rocks and keep escaping road gators from trashing things.
