Tony, a few years back I had the great luck to help my cousins move from Florence SC to Sheridan MT.(population 900 or so...) (note, not WY)... when my buddy and I rolled into town with the two Ryder trucks, we parked and got settled in a the B&B we were staying in. Then we walked downtown a few blocks to The Pizza place for dinner; We got a booth, menus and so on, and when the waitress took our order she stated... 'You're not from around here are you?', to which we replied "no, we're helping family move into town. ' She immediately replied with my Cousins' name and knew exactly who we were helping. Yep, small town life at its finest.

Check The Charcoal Briquette thread for tonight’s exploits.

Here are the pics from last night.

Temporary spacer stick in corner aligns the upper rear side and rear cabinet ledgers.
Image

Had to trim the rear ledger bit by bit until it fit just right. Here is the street side.
Image

An overall shot of the dry fit.
Image

Here I have completed masking and taken the upper cabinet face frame back out so that I can start fitting the upper cabinet floor panel, and have easier access to mask the upper rear ledgers. Curb side first, then street side.

I dug the panel “out of inventory”. Had to clean some dust off of the edges where it had not been covered properly; there is some slight shadowing that will mostly be invisible after staining and who is going to stick their head inside of the cabinet anyway? This panel will need to be trimmed to length and ripped down just a bit due to the switch from 1/4 round to the slotted ledgers.

Tomorrow will be used up at DMV on The Briq and doing a household maintenance chore. Sunday is a trip to Framingham to pack up for the trip to the chunk, so a little more time away from TPCE.

Slowly but surely.

Again, I echo GPW. Design, construction, assembly, finishes, etc...are simply fantastic!

You've rounded the corner for the home stretch. It won't be long before the PCE is campable.

Thank you, gentlemen, for the kind words of praise.

Tom, I am especially appreciative that you recognize the design effort.

The Briq now has a temporary plate, but I will need to take it to Wethersfield for a VIN inspection. :NC :worship:

The other day we were laughing because we had 8 trailers at Karl's.

Karl's enclosed dbl axle car trailer that he uses for storage; his single axle UT (6x12?); my car trailer; TPCE; The Briq; the little trailer that he had extended and had not been picked up yet; the big dump trailer with the leaf vac; and Rover Mikes cargo/enclosed car trailer.

Come to think of it, we are still at 8. The dump and extended are gone, but we now have Mr. B and the chunker UT.

It is becoming a way of life!

Yes. I have completed rewiring the ballista trailer cord, trailer lights, and brakes... most all of the whole trailer. I rerouted the brake wires by drilling a new hole thru the center of the side of the frame rail (8 inch C-channel), bringing them from outboard (where they run in PVC conduit in the leg of the outward facing channel) getting them away from the tires and springs so they can't chafe (they used to wrap under the channel and snake between the fender, tires and springs, now the leads from the backing plates are wrapped securely to the axle to a point inboard where the leads drop down from the decking).

Karl says I did too nice a job for such a crude rig. 8) He's probably right, as it took me all weekend, including Friday and Monday evenings. At least all of the "nastiness" is gone and everything works correctly now.

Wednesday night we will do the final pack of the small UT, adding items like Karl's small generator, my little pancake compressor, a couple of ladders (the deck of the ballista gets kind of high up when we lift it up on to its feet), another large tote/tongue style box with our personal hand tools, cordless power tools, hard hats, etc.

Hope the weather holds out. Looks like fog for the ride down on Thursday, and possibly rain for the first throw on Friday.

That's okay though, will have fun because... "somethun's gonna happen!" :D

This thread has prompted me to jump on a sale price for a 120w portable folding solar panel with carry case, mounted charge controller and wire leads included.

http://www.solarblvd.com/p2756/W-Solar-120-Watt-Foldable-12-Volt-Solar-Panel/product_info.html

Now to look for a reasonably priced 12v fridge that will fit in my planned cooler slide location.
