Mine was campable 6 years ago last month. Slept in it a couple of time that month and took it on its first camping trip Dec 31 2007 to Death Valley. No cabinets. Temporary shelf for the galley and a temporary wall between cabin and galley.

Nope, it is not done but right now it is in the deep freeze. It was 6F when I woke up this morning and it doesn't look much better for another week or 2.

If I could afford it I would close up the house in Dec. and head south. I do not want to move there as I do like summers up here but winter has gotten old.

So Randy, any progress on your next build?

I have come to the awareness that they take longer than you expect (... I expected that  ). By extrapolating that, it follows to reason that, "they are never really done". But the thing that I can say for certain is, they do not build themselves. 8)

Tonight I will "take another bite of the elephant". ;)

No progress on the next one since I put the frame up. I now have a broken vehicle in the shop and waiting for the clutch fairies to show up and replace the clutch. To darn cold for me. Just cause the clutch went out back in Sep. I just could not get the ambition up to do anything. Also should rebuild the motor, weather/time/money/ambition.

I hear you loud and clear. I hate working on the other things that I "should" or "have to" work on, because it keeps me from working on the thing I want to work on... going to Poet Creek!

I would have done something earlier but every time I do something it costs money and I been dreading that. Takes away from accumulating Colemans

Foggy warm front rolled in. Temps in loft up to 61 deg F with heaters so you know what I did.

Second coat of poly on one side of rear cabinet panels, and first coat on all of the front cabinet frame work. I screwed “feet” to the top sides of the front cabinet face frame (using the Kregg pocket screws as for installation) so that I could stand it up and get both sides at the same time. Put painters tape on the tops of the cardboard corners to keep the small parts from sticking.

Nice work KC and progress is happing. But I would be start raving mad by now. If I wasn't already.

"Campable" Really worked for me on that trip. A good wind came in the 2nd night we was there and blew down some tents and damaged a few. After I finished helping the tenters in the campground I just picked up my trailer tongue and pointed it into the wind and crawled into bed. I was there the year before and when I got to the campground the wind had already blown down some highway signs. I just sat in my vehicle and looked at the weather and decided I did not want to try and nail my tent to the earth. I just turned around and headed home. 600 miles. And that spring I started building the TD.

3 F is cold.

We're supposed to get some cold weather this weekend and it has been wet the last couple of days. Looks to be clearing at the moment.

To me the things I want to have left over to do at the end are the extra wing tables for the sides of the galley; some fancy matching boxes to transport my lanterns; and maybe cabinet doors or other storage related do-dads.

Things that I could skip for now include the cut in the floor for the bulkhead vent fan (that has to be done with the cabin on the trailer frame anyway so that I make sure the hole clears the third xmbr), and maybe even installation of the hatch actuators (I could use a prop rod, assuming that the hatch is easy enough to lift by hand); but I would really rather do it all right up front from the get go.

Yeah, it was 57 yesterday when I left work. The day before it was 41.

The one thing they say about living in CT, "if you don't like the weather, wait a few minutes".
