Tensile strength, maybe?

I didn't look at the spec.'s, but while a hard shell might give impact resistance, there might not be much tensile strength. Long fibers, such as cotton or FG threads, give tensile strength. We need both of these properties, not just one. 8)

Again, I didn't bother to look at the spec.'s; it might be in there somewhere.

A "cheap" 2 part, tint-able bedliner kit is over $100.00, the one I use from SEM is over $200.00

How much coverage does the bedliner kit have and is it sprayable from a cheap acoustical air gun?

I'm stepping out on a limb here, but I believe most polyurea products spray with inexpensive guns but you have to use forced air respirators.

harbor freight has the respirators in a bag you open use for a certain period and chunk them and they are rather inexpensive compared to the ones that you can change the filters inside them.

The first video said that the stuff is glossy. I wonder about painting beforehand to protect the paint? Maybe the imperfections would show...

It's an offwhite so it's not opaque at all so painting under would not have any effect on color changes. If its the same base as the bed liner stuff then the tint for it should work just fine in the styrospray.

A professional bedliner kit will do an 8' pickup box about 1/8" thick (maybe between 1/16" and 1/8"). Raptor is the cheap kit I have used, SEM is my favorite and goes a bit farther.

I spray my bedliners with an undercoating gun. At one time, the Raptor kit came with one. Either way, you can get a cheap undercoating gun for around $30.00

I received 2 pieces of beaded foam (think foam cups) and 1 piece of 1/8" plywood covered with painted on styrospray 1000 over styroprime sealer
all 3 are 4 inch square blocks, all three pieces are smooth as glass the styrospray 1000 is about 1/32 inch thick.
I did a "hammer" test on one of the foam covered blocks I used a hammer it did crack but I had to draw back and really whack it
normal blows didn't do anything of course the plywood piece didn't budge at all.
since the corners were exposed I was able to pull the styrospray 1000 from the foam very easy some form of protection may be required.
they sent along 11 pages of information one part I found interesting was found on their Q&A sheet when ask if it can be used over the "pink" or "blue"
insulation type foam. they replied:
unlike the white beaded EPS foam, this, "pink" or "blue" foam is manufactured by CO2 gas injected into hot plastic which is extruded into a flat sheet.
to use styrospray over this type of foam it will be necessary to remove any clear plastic or metal film which may be bonded to it.
also it may have an invisible layer of silicone release agent or wax on it's surface it must be lightly sanded if you are bonding layers of the pink or blue
foams together. they go on to tell how by adding a small amount of water, 2 or 3 drops will speed up the drying time when bonding sheets together.
just like when I read about people using foam, paint, and cloth to make a trailer; using the styrospray 1000 could be another "new" way to make a "foamie".

Sounds great. I am looking forward to testing some myself. Hopefully soon.
