Bonnie, I would think twice before permanently installing those windows with 5200. If something should happen to cause your window to shatter, I think you will have to take the window out to get the glass replaced. 5200 will tear your wall up when you try to remove the window. (Granted, you are an expert with foam and foam repairs....) 5200 sticks so well that will even tear up wood. (I've heard that 4200 is not as bad; but, I have had no personal experience with 4200.)

Also, after my windows had been in for four years, the windows, themselves, started to leak in heavy rain storms. It seems that the weather stripping used in the windows weakens and flattens too much over time. (The windows that I purchased may have been in the store for quite a while, too.) To remedy the problem, I left the existing weather stripping in place but added a strip of:

black md all purpose silicone gasket (68668 WS108) 1/4"Hx1/2"W

I added the gasket material to the sides and bottom opposite/facing the original weather stripping. That seems to have done the trick.

Great thoughts. What's your thoughts on using the butyl tape? It is sticky stuff. I could use screw in wall anchors behind the flashing or even a hard mount point. That might be the best idea.

Butyl tape is hard to work with but it does the job well. Put it in the refrigerator until you're ready to use it. That makes it a little easier to use. When I tried to use it, I managed to smear it... What a mess I made! I got it cleaned up, after a fashion. ...Maybe there's another secret to it that I don't know.

RV putty tape is sometimes sold as butyl tape. It isn't the same thing; but, it'll work okay, if it'll stick to your walls, which it probably will. It's easier to work with and what a lot of RV places now use and sell.

Well looks like the cabin deformed a bit:

I was remounting the door with a living hinge and there's now a pretty big gap. The remainder of the door is square.

Gonna think on this one a bit. Suggestions?

Oh, and my Truck quit going forward or backward in the city on Thursday. My mechanic said he should be able too look at it by Tuesday. Hoping it's just the tranny sensor pack and not the tranny. It's time for a shower and a good book. Tomorrow will be better.

All canvas glued down and drying -- check
All four walls -- check
Getting things ready to paint -- check

I roughed up and then washed the existing finish. After it dried, I put a base gripper coat down past the length of the floor canvas wrap and let it dry. When I was ready to start gluing the canvas, I used a spray bottle filled with water and really dampened the canvas. My thought was damp canvas would better wick the gripper. It turned out it worked exactly that way. I put a coat of gripper on the trailer wall and a coat of gripper on underside of the canvas. These I pressed and worked down the length of the trailer. Then I added more gripper to the outside of the canvas using my hands to really work it into the weave. Very messy. If you like your garage floor to be clean and pretty lay down drop cloths.

To fold the corners, I worked the canvas into a triangle. Grippered all sides of the canvas and then made the fold. It took some bit of fiddling, but they all came out pretty solid. I tried the technique last night and this morning that particular corner was rock solid. I used spackle to clean up the edges all around. A utility knife made short work of cutting off the strings.

The orange tape is a special frog tape made specifically for textured surfaces. You place the tape -- I put it along GPW's excellent stripping job -- and then seal the edge with a special edge sealer that comes with the kit. It's supposed to be able to stay in place for 21 days.

That whole process used most of a gallon of gripper. I'll need to get more to finish.

Once the bottom is repainted and had a chance to cure a bit. It will be time to put the whole thing on the trailer. :worship:

Then the top part of the outside needs repainted and about a million other things.

I am a happy camper tonight.

Excellent. I thought for sure that you were going to say transmission, or at least low tranny fluid level, but fuel pump is much better than trans trouble. You are batting 1000!

Two other things:

Here's a picture of the frog tape:

Plus this is what I used to glue the flashing piece on the door threshold. Takes forever to dry, but it's rock solid:

Okay, I'll shut up now. :R

The wife's transmission went out at 80K miles on her 2002 Trailblazer ... They wanted 3K to fix it , but the truck wasn't worth it ... But the Transmission place gave me 1k for the TB , and they fixed it for themselves... I still see It parked outside when I pass there... The wife got a Honda , which worked out better and doesn't use even near the gas that the TB gobbled ... But now she can't tow anything ... Things Change ...
