Louella,

It got too late last night to post pictures. But I did take some.

Here are a few pictures for Mark, and the rest of you who want to see how canvas looks.

Just one coat of paint so far...
Image

The edges are peeling away. I'll have to put another coat of paint on the edges...

Here you can see where we tried to iron the canvas on the foam... (right above the wheelwell). You can also see where the canvas bubbled.

We glued the walls up last night. We got the top spar in also.

I'll get the rest of the spars in this morning.

Mike , Sure is looking Good !!!
You may find the difference between the paint and the T2 is , the T2 will become thermoplastic with heat , (iron) where the paint does not ... The iron trick won't work with paint ...

Looks good Mike.

Sure has to be a bit different working with the foam as compared all wood.

What are you estimating the final weight to be?

Thank you for the pictures, Mike.

The finish looks good in the photos. Are you pleased?

I can't help thinking that with enough coats of paint, you should get that "bumpy" texture that you see in a lot of vinyl products. My guess is that with one coat of paint, you're kind of "rough to the touch" at this point.

Is that a reasonable expectation?

I am getting close to a starting time for my 5 x 10-6 camper. I have found several 4 x 8 sheets of 1.7" urethane foam from a former employer, and I'm down to the axle on a 5 x 9 trailer frame.

I will document my build. It's a weekends-only endeavor, and I hope to get it built by the end of september.

Yes, I plan on overlapping all the exterior canvas to create the sock!

I've now got some of the spars in, and I am working on the platform for the bed.

Yes, I am taking pictures as I go!

Mike...

P.S. Earl, weight? :? 300-500 pounds?

 :applause: Wonder if the heat is drying the glue too fast and allowing your edges to not stick well. Beautiful work btw!

It looks really attractive and it is pretty big! Have we seen a foamie as big as this here?

The lower part of the foam got pushed in too far

Here's what the bed platform is going to look like...

GPW,

Any suggestions for the front counter area?

Louella?

LOOks great Mike

Gotta question and suggestion. Are you going to hinge the bed to use that storage space underneath? And why not use what you have therefor the counter just pocket screw the one by on the bottom and a few coats of spar varnish or poly to finish it?

Mike ,you could make the counter out of foam . with very thin ply or even canvas on both sides ... Perhaps a foam center brace if you plan on something Heavy on it ..
What were you planning on putting on it ???
