This weekend was about the interior and door. Cut and installed the two taller cabinets and one of the side benches. With Sunday being mothers day, I did not get as much done this weekend as I would have liked. I think I will need to get more done in the evenings during the week since I only have 3 more weekends till our first trip. Some photos:

Over the past two weeks work slowed somewhat due to typical Seattle spring rain. With the trailer in the garage, there isn't room to keep building. Luckily the weekends were nice, so I was able to roll the trailer into the front yard and keep moving forward. The outside paint is just about done. My son and I won out and we went with an olive drab green, it is darker than the pictures show. To affirm our color choice a twin engine WWII bomber made several passes over our house yesterday! Many thanks to all you who served our country, and are currently serving, in the armed forces and especially to those who gave their lives so that we can be free.

I finished up the last drawer and doors for the interior cabinets and there are now two coats of poly on the wood surfaces. I still have some painting left in various places and need to touch up the interior side walls. I also decided to paint the trailer frame. There is still lots to do, but now I can complete some of the bigger items like the window and skylight installation. I bought some heavy duty black vinyl for the upper side walls and need to get working on them. I have 2 more weekends till our first trip, must continue to press on! Here are some pics.

Your doing a great job on a great trailer. You will love the comfort of this design. You've done what I thought about doing on our second Winter Warrior but I chickened out and used luan under the canvass. I'm thinking about doing a second hatch, since ours is about a 80lb press to lift, and using no luan this time. I used a long heavy piano hinge on my hatch and covered it with vinyl irrigation hose over the top. Used plastic hinge on the hatch on the tongue box and haven't had a problem with the hinge leaking but the rest of the hatch leaks.

Anyway this is a great looking trailer.

Right now I have a 6' piano hinge holding the top in place. I plan to add a plastic "living" hinge over it to waterproof it. For the relatively small movement of the hinge, probably only 20 degrees, I don't think it should be a problem having two slightly offset hinge points.

I have a question for you guys. Can I use 14-2 regular house wire to run from a cheap harbor freight 400/800 Watt power inverter to the 12 volt battery? In keeping cost down, I already have some romex laying around that I would like to use.

I used a heavy duty extention cord. Most say stranded wire holds up better to solid due to vibrations, but I never heard of any issues with solid.
Figure, I'd use stranded just in case
