I told the skeptical better half after I explained construction with foam that it would not survive a high speed collision with a bison. She thought about it a minute and said "neither would my car". My foamie feels pretty solid now all closed up even without canvas and I am hoping it doesn't implode at 70 mph either when all done

No worries , we had naysayers telling us our Foamies would implode .... Never happened... Some people just try to spoil our Fun ... Just because they aren’t having any ...

Those are the ones I call turkeys. They spend thier life telling everyone "it will never work". Thrn when we make one thst works, we can quote what Tom Edison said once upon a time:"I have not failed. I have found 10000 ways it won't work." :applause:

I guess I'm guilty at times of sounding negative, but I figure in order to engineer a viable solution you must first understand the challenges. Anything is possible, but the engineering process is to find a balance between art, function, structural adequacy, the ability to produce and cost.

Understand the roadblocks to navigate the course.

Fortunately , there’s an unusually Large "Fudge Factor" involved in this case , used under “normal" working parameters. Extreme use conditions would require more thorough engineering , as KC said .

Getting ready to post some new ideas/notes and modified drawings about the "DUCK", but need to yell HELP first. Trying to find someone to help me with the "logo" pic that will go on the sloped top of the 'nose cone'. Our grand daughter, who happens to be a great artist, did a nice pencil drawing (on lined notebook paper) from the note I gave her but it seems no one can (or will) help me get it ready to make a 12" circular 'stick-on' of it. If anyone can/will help, please let me know so arrangements can be made. Thanks.

WOW! Just picked up my HF trailer yesterday. Sweet. They have gone to a 5 (yes FIVE) lug pattern, and the new hubs have grease fittings already installed. Still have to take the bearingc out and pack them, but no longer need "beating buddies", etc. Moving closer the 'meat and 'taters' of the "DUCK". Will try to keep you posted as I work on it. Also looks like the find of 'damaged, foam boards at a good price wil help me redo the downstairs "man cave" a lot cheaper. Another

It is : "HF trailers now have 5 lug wheels and spindles". The pic is in it. But since you can't find it, iI'll post it here:

OK, Thanks .... Now what exactly do you want to do with it ???
Might as well do it all here so everyone else may see how it’s done and make one for themselves...

Would like to have it on a 12 - 18" white (or light gray) round background with a 1"-1&1/2" wide burgundy circular border with IN MEMORY OF: (at the top) & L E "DUCKY" JEFFREY and W F "BOOZE" PAULEY (at the bottlom). If you want to polish the duck a little (add a little color, a pencil in his pocket?), that's fine I would also like both your name and the g daughter's on it too. Hope I am not asking too much. The "47" on the hard hat was Dad's radio call sign for more than twenty years. Thought by combining things about both of them would be a real neat memento.
P.S. Little bit of a story behind the nickname for DW's dad  Tell you sometime.
Need anything else let me know and I'll send my email by private message. OK?
