Eagle , we've got our stuff ready ,space cleared out inside my Studio ... still too cold !!! But soon !!!! Only thing I need to decide is whether to do a traditional shaped TD or more a Weekender or Grasshopper ... which I think might be a little easier with no bending of the foam ... unless I can locate some of that thick kerfed bending foam ... Nothing yet on that... still looking for a local supplier...

The plan so far is to build the floor and fit it to the trailer , then remove the floor and build the shell separate ... It will be so light , will be able to move it around , flip it for better finishing ... then just bolt it up to the trailer , and done ...

It's gotta' get warmer soon eh ??? :o

i was thinking of adding the floor then build up from that. but reading what you say maybe a better way since like you say it will be light enought to move around.

i am "going to attempt" a teary shape, but not sure how it will turn out. i am going to more than likely be winging this.

and yes it has to get warmer right? i still have snow out here and ice.

we don't have any indoor areas to work, so i am stuck with outside. however, i am thinking about shutting off one section of my ponies run-in and turn that into my work space. i just have to make sure when i am not there those pesky ponies don't figure out a way to get in there.

It might take two people to move the shell around ... It will be light enough , but bulky for just one person ...
Snow and Ice !!! :o None of that here , TG !!! I'm just waiting for the magic 70 degree mark , so glues , paints etc will dry properly , and your humble narrator won't be Frozen stiff..

Apologies, folks down South don't do very well in the Cold !!! All what we're acclimated to , I guess !!!

Good looking trailer. I see they have pics of one with a teardrop on it. I wonder how it differs from a Harbor Freight trailer.

To me it looks like it could lose 2 cross members for a teardrop to make it a bit lighter. And give a person a couple of hunks of iron for other projects.

For one thing, it looks like a solid mount tongue, instead of the HF trailer which tips. I'm thinking of having mine welded.. never liked the tipping feature. The fenders are much nicer than the HF fenders also. It also has an extra support across the front of the tongue. Looks much more sturdy than the HF frame due to that and the solid mount.

Plus, it's BLACK. Who wants a red trailer anyway?

thank you all. i am glad so far i did that one right. lets hope i can put it together correctly. :D

there will be some "saw" dust. i am going to have a wood floor. just so i don't have to reread all of these pages, could you give me ideas on what kind of wood and how thick? treated or non treated?
i don't have a lot of choices around here. we have lowes and there is another guy that has lumbar. i have never been there so i have no idea what he sells.
but if you give me a 'goal' of what to look for i can start looking for that.

what i ideally want is a 5.6 wide and longer than 8, maybe extend to 9 feet.

i know this is "thriftly alternatives" thread, and i hate to hi-jack it. but we have the same goal of a foamie here. i have never built anything in my life. so i will be asking for help along the way.

the trailer will get here it says sometime next week. we are cruising next week, so you won't here from me til the following week. [we had to get away from all this cold, snow and ice, so bahamas here we come].
