So not shown is the method of attaching the flashing permanently. It is too cold here to apply glues and paint so this step will wait till spring. But what is planned is that I will use gripper on the foam surface and flashing, where it comes in contact with the foam, just before I clamp the pieces and pop rivet them together. This will help with better grip and weather tightness as well. If I was to have too large of clearance behind the flashing in the cut out I might also want to apply some GS. I would apply the GS after pop riveting, but not before removing the clamps. I would do this by drilling a hole in the foam large enough to stick the GS nozzle back behind the flashing in the void area. Now you can give it a shot of foam and the clamps will keep it from lifting the flashing up off the finished surface.

Shots of how the flashing allows for hard points for the installation of the vent. Also, by pop riveting the two angles together you make a channel which makes for a strong support of the foam in this area.

I do not know about you people that use proper measuring tools.

I just order in my LED lighting today. I got (10) 20" interior lights, (4) yellow clearance lights, (4) red clearance lights, (6) white porch lights, (2) tail lights and (2) license plate lights. A grand total of $73.62.

looking good and I have a ruler somewhere?? Were you going to tell where you ordered the lights from or keep it a secrete for your next build? HE HE Where did you get the fantastic lights from?

I got the lights from http://www.aliexpress.com/ . A bit hard to navigate and you have to read the descriptions very carefully, but you can find some great deals. Lets just say you get rid of the middle man here.

I have never heard of Aliexpress before. So I spent some time there today, saw some really low LED prices and read about some concerns others have had with different companies thru Aliexpress. I guess it is a case of " buyer beware" or at least "buyer be Carefull". I am going going to try them for a $15 set of LED light bars. But I am afraid to use my Regular CC so I am going to go out an buy a prepaid CC for a few more dollars more then I am willing to lose and try them with that.

I hear your concerns. I too was a bit skeptical when I first found out about them. They are a competing in the global economy so I do not think they would want to get a bad rap on card fraud. I have ordered from them a few times now. I have had some issues, but they were all taken care of quickly and fairly.

So this is how it works. Aliexpress is the company that takes your money and then distributes it to the wholesaler who advertise on the site. The wholesaler does not get their money until your items are received and you confirm to Aliexpress the arrival of your items. At that time you can confirm that you are satisfied with the purchases and the wholesalers get their money. If anything does not meet the description of the product you purchased, does not seem a fair price once you receive the item, did not receive the item in advertised time, broken or inoperative product ect. you can open a dispute with aliexpress. The dispute has to be resolved before the wholesaler gets his money. Otherwise, you get a refund on your disputed item and they get what is left.

When you get a prepaid card make sure it is usable outside the U.S. A lot of them are not allowed for outside country purchases.

I do find their search engine a bit wonky and you have to manipulate it some to find what your after sometimes. I will give you a tip though. Many of the wholesalers sell the same things. Before I purchase anything I will use their description of item in the search box. Sometimes you will find the same item through different sources at totally different prices. I purchased a car radio and it ranged in price from $32.00 to $79.00.

Thanks George for the tips. Yes wandering around the site was a challenge at first. I did like the very low price of the LED strips (similar to what you posted) such that I am willing to take a chance. I also did a quick review of the company on the internet and saw both good and bad stories. So I am taking baby steps.

While we’re on about LED lights , I’d just like to say , the New LEDs are pretty impressive!!! I got a new replacement LED bulb for my 2 AA Mini Mag Light, and the light it puts now is INCREDIBLY Bright !!! I can see all they way down my 350’ driveway, no problem .... the original bulb was only bright enough to find your keys or something else close... The technology is much improved...
Also we’ve been using Eneloop NIMH batteries for over a year now (test) and they work Great , hold a charge a long time , easy to recharge, and fairly inexpensive... Not nearly as dangerous as Li batteries. ... even got the adapters to use the AA NIMH in C & D cell devices... Working Great over time ...
We also have bought No more AA alkaline batteries either (thrifty )

I have been slowly replacing our house lights with LED lights starting with the lights we used the most. I started to notice a instant decrease in our power bill. I was having a hard time trying to keep the bill under $175.00 a month and my last 3 bills came in under $135.00! So far the LED lights we purchased have been brighter and a whiter light than the same wattage bulb they replaced. The wife loves the brighter/whiter light. They are not cheap, but they have nearly paid for themselves already. Plus if I ever get around to going solar I am already there with the lighting.

At least you can go Solar in your camper ... for a good many things ... The technology is improving rapidly ... battery technology too ...

I took the step today and ordered about $48 worth of lights and an IR Thermometer plus a belt. I did use a prepaid Visa card I bought with $50 on it. I was able to enter the order and the site said the card was accepted. But I skipped over the personal data they asked for in the "account" section.

Now we will see what happens.

I believe in buying "Made in the USA" products, but I do not think anything I ordered is built here. Sort of sad. Maybe the temperature reader is, I did not check.
