That's Super !!! Just the effect we'd want in an Igloo... er, trailer 8)
I just dislike kerf-ing big sheets of foam ... easy but messy ... May have to because the Dow foam is kerfed the wrong way ... :o

Weather being what it is , I moved the foam for the trailer project back in front of my Studio sliding glass doors ... Just this alone adds significant insulation and prevents heat loss through this single pane glass ... Much warmer now !!! Turns out to be a great test of the 2" Blu-Foam ... Proving a trailer made of this should be EXACTLY like an Igloo ... a Good thing in extreme summer and winter ... won't take much to heat or cool ...
28F this morning here ... Studio was 58F before I turned the heat on ... Pretty good for sitting all night without heat ...

Checked out my Jayco FS , which is "supposed" to be insulated , but is not really .... 28F inside ...

No opinion, must do ( in my book )

Or move the axle to the rear if possible

same here, a heat wave is hitting. we are at 37 now, but should get to 45 today and tomorrow 48. i am trying to talk hubby into going out back to see about putting it together. not sure i will be able to pull that one off though.

if i could pick it up myself i would just bring it in the house and work on it. but it is really heavy and in several boxes still on the crate.

well here is out start.

we had to move it back outside as it was begining to get too heavy. hubby did a little bit more on it outside but got to a part that would not cooperate. so he gave up for the day. got too cold out there also.

so anyway that is our start.

Well one reason as they told you on the TJ forum is that when its short its a pain to back up. Look in my album and see how short mine is and I can tell you I can back in a big trailer antday but alot of times mine on the td is so short it jackknifes at a drop of a hat backing up. I'm purchasing my trailer next weekend and one of the reasons I'm buying it is the tongue is longer on it so I won't have to extend it when I start my new TD in a few weeks.

yup, i told hubby we had to extend the tongue already.

i bought this trailer because i did not think i had to do anything to it. so i guess just extending it won't be too difficult. i hope. but trying to find the steel to do this extension around here might be a tad hard.

Some people move the axle back. Depends on what your trailer is. Some cutting and drilling will probably be required. Maybe some welding. Fortunately I can weld and have shop and metal working tools so I just make my own trailer.

Not that mine are pretty or certified welded. But they usually stay together. The first one I built I was a Junior in HS. It was a 10 ton capacity, 8 wheels 4 axles and the bed tilted for loading equipment. I used the front axle hubs from 4 Cadillacs from the 50s era. Welded into units much like 2 roller skates then placed side to side. Those pivoted for suspension. We used that trailer for years on the farm and it made a few trips between southern Idaho and Central Washington hauling equipment. Only trouble we had with it was one of the axles was a might crooked and would wear the tire out. So we usually left it off until we loaded it up heavy.
