1000lb or less trailer for 4 adults?

I May have found a trailer!!!!!!
It is a boat trailer and the boat sitting on it is not good. The information plate is really worn, as far as I can make out it is a 1972, and has a capacity of 2250lbs. Not sure of the weight of it thinking it may be to heavy for what I want. would love to be under 500lbs prefer about 300lbs.
The trailer is all bolted together so axle can be moved forward, the avle is below the springs and the main rails are 16" off the ground so if I bring the axle above the springs it would be 13" to the top of the main rails. The 2 main rails are only 36" apart but could be moved 6" out each to be 48" apart. The wheels from outside to outside are 5'-9", so a 7' body would only be 7.5" wider then the wheels on each side.

ghcoe and GPW - You guys give me hope both your builds are light. My 7 by 12 would be 84sf at 12lb/sf I get a weight of 1008lbs! I know keeping the trailer light and strong will be a key thing to make that weight happen, as well as not putting to many fixtures in it. WE always cook outside and a potti/shower tent is fine.

That is the type of trailer that I would use for a bigger build. I like the fact that the axle is easy to move. With my build though I would keep the body between the wheels. That way you could always adjust the axle for different situations.

That looks like a very workable trailer ... You are (we assume) going to get a good price on it huh ??? Looks Good , you can add or subtract to the basic frame and parts are easy to come by ... a little wire brushing (minimum ) and some Rustoleum and you’ve got a fine trailer , and you can try removing one of the smaller springs to lighten the ride ... ( we didn’t )
